The floor of the kitchen was higher than the adjacent dining room floor. I specifically asked for them to be the same level. I actually emailed the project manager and they assured me this would be done. Instead of replacing the window sill they just slapped paint over a clearly damaged sill that needed replacement. I had to have another company to replace the window sill. I had to have them also create a transition with the flooring from the dining room to kitchen. They also had to fix the paint job.The ConstruXure worker was not showing up everyday and they actually did not start the project until July. The worker, Tom, asked me to sign off on the work prior to it being completed. He promised that he would be back to complete the last couple of day's work in which he did not. He didn't come back until the next day and never called to text that it would be a day later.
They were very dishonest and unprofessional. Home Depot offered me a $1,000 to compensate me for the problems but ConstruXure offered absolutely nothing. I actually found Home Depot equally as dishonest.
I was very upset because I had taken a day of annual leave for the installation. I returned the water heater to Home Depot and complained to the manager. He arranged for their service provider to deliver and install a water heater the next day. This cost me another day of annual leave.
Other problems occurred with the promotional financing. This was supposed to be an 18 month no interest financing. When the credit card statement arrived, the statement said it 6 months no interest. This cost me another trip and waiting in line at Home Depot. Finally, it was changed to 18 months no financing. Although they gave me $100 off of the purchase, this does not nearly make up for two days of missed work.
I will take advantage of the 18 months no interest promotion, but will never deal with Home Depot again. This was one of several issues with that store.
Home Depot also would not do the installation of the replacement (propane ga) drier and provided no assistance on who/how to get this done-so we will pay for this part twice.
Actual delivery went well: on time, set up stack, hooked up washer.
The sales person came EXACTLY on time equipped with everything we needed to see and know. When we agreed to purchase, he took the time to ensure we were able to put the purchase on our newly acquired Home Depot credit card (we'd purchased garage doors from them a week before).
The gentleman who came to measure was due at 1:30. I arrived home at 1:29 and he was already done!
The installation estimate was 3 weeks and they called in 2. The gentleman who did the measurement was part of the installation crew. They were scheduled between 8-10 AM on a saturday and arrived at 8 AM and were DONE by 10:30. They even repaired the frame where the cranks had to be removed. The windows look great and operate flawlessly. I HIGHLY recommend Home Depot's services!
(Note: the contract also contained the Energy Efficient Tax Credit form, completed by Home Depot with the cost of materials and the percentage eligible for my tax credit).
I asked if the job could be done before Christmas, and they assured me it was possible, but even better the job was scheduled the Monday after Thanksgiving. I was told that the installers would be at my house between 8 a.m. and noon, and to my shock they arrived at 8:15 a.m.! The installers were friendly and very professional and installed the new patio door in 2 hours. They cleaned up what little mess there was, and hauled everything away.
I complimented the installer who did the caulking around the door, as he did a very nice, neat job.
I would have appreciated the installers to walk in and out through the patio door area rather than coming through the front door, but other than that i have no complaints. The door looks wonderful!
And it doesn't end there ... i was going out that afternoon and bumped into the project manager, Ray Grey. He was stopping by to check on how the job went and if i had any questions or concerns. I reported that all went well, and we both departed satisfied with the knowledge of a job well done.
