This contractor was recommended to me by a neighbor who had used him
many times before. He gave me an estimate for the job that I described
and a price was agreed upon. During the timeframe that the painting was
being done, this contractor started arguing with me concerning a
metallic wall color that I had shown him and he agreed to paint. He
told me it would require too many coats to appear the way I had seen in
the paint chip. He had already agreed to do the job as presented. I
insisted that he do another coat and he verbally told me he was unhappy
about it.
He had brought an assistant with him, whom I had not met
originally. At first, I thought his assistant was making conversation
when he sought information about 2 of the pictures I had hanging in the family
room, one of which was a painting done by my uncle.
I am still wondering what happened to 2 of the pictures. I
inquired of the contractor and he claims he doesn't recall doing the job
and knows nothing about the pictures! I was going to school and had
to leave the contractors at my house unsupervised, but because a
neighbor had recommended him, I trusted him. When I arrived home after
the second day, my framed pictures that were hanging in the family room had
been removed by the painters. I inquired where they were and was told
they were in the back room. I had a lot of items stored in the back
room since I had my kitchen gutted and was waiting for the painting
to be completed before my kitchen contractor could return. It took me
awhile to put things back in order, but the pictures never
materialized. They were large pictures.
They had taken down my fabric vertical window
coverings and I saw a spot or 2 of paint as they lay on the floor. When
I mentioned it to the contractor, he said he didn't do it. I did not
want to make a big deal about it. The heating vents were taken off and
the nails not put back in when the painting was finished. The good thing about the painter was that I had had a pipe burst and there were 3 holes in the drywall in one of my family room walls. Tthe painter repaired and painted them. It was a very good job. But overall, it was an unpleasant experience. I was torn that I had to go to school
and had to leave them alone in my house.

Response from FRESHKOTE PAINTING & WALLCOVERING
"We take pride and go the extra mile on all of our projects as our reviews indicate. This project was completed over a year ago, I feel this is to hurt our company reputation. We have been in business over 10 years and never had a review like this. I explained to the member about the metalic paint before the project started. I explained that it was very hard to match a small sample and we put 6 coats on the wall no problem. The disagreement came when the project was completed and we received no response for final payment. We made several attempts to contact the client through phone call and emails and did not receive a response for several days. As stated in the signed contract, payment is due upon completion of the project and payment was made in full. Our company prides itself on excellent service and customer satisfaction. We are members of the BBB and have never had any negative issues."

Mr. Jordan and his associate were consumate professionals. They were able start the week following the acceptance of their estimate. They always arrived ontime. Worked very efficiently and were extremely pleasant. If we had questions they always provided helpful hints and suggestions on this project and other projects we have. They are true craftsmen. Bottom line: I wish we had something else for them to paint, I'd call them in a second.

Tom gave an accurate and honest estimate that didn't change. He delivered to the letter as per contract and went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with the quality of his product. He and Tony were very polite, friendly, and professional. Freshkote's price, and delivery beat by far five other companies that had bid on the proposal. I highly recommend them to you, my friends and family.

EXCELLENT. Tom and Tony were great. The work is top-notch and the prcie extremely competitive. However, what I feel truly separates Tom and Tony is how trustworthy, honest, friendly and courteous they both are. They painted the interior of a house we are about to move into. Since we were not there everyday I left them a key and they let themselves in and locked up afterwards. The were flexible and worked around other contractors who came in to do other work. They even did other little things - patched holes that other contractors had made, that were not part of the original scope work. Finally, what really illustrates the thoughtfulness of these two gentlemen: While they worked upstairs we cleaned up a lot of junk in the basement. Tom and Tony set up scaffolding early one Saturday morning on the basement stairs to get at the wall papered ceiling. Before they did they made sure to unlock the basement door and turn on lights so we had access to do what we needed to do. So, good price, excellent service, but what sets these two apart is the little thoughtful things that made the process that much easier for us!

After making initial contact, the follow-up was a little rough due to the two of us constantly being on the go. The web site's "contact us" page did not work. Nonetheless, after we finally made follow-up conversations, our experience was great. Mr. Jordan and his two assistants did an excellent job! He even gave excellent advice concerning a color idea my wife and I were contemplating. They were also very trustworthy. I had to leave them in my house. Mr. Jordan closed up my house as we agreed! That type of honesty and integrity is hard to find!
