Executive Plus has been a treasure. Owner/manager Alba Havrilla personally visits with her team each week and oversees every detail. Indeed, she advises new clients that she likes to understand their preferences and wants and that she then "will take over the care of your house" -- and she does. No stock list of "22 regular services" as with the big chains here: In addition to the routine "basics" (kitchen appliances and baths cleaned, furniture dusted, carpets vacuumed, and so on), at the start of each visit Alba personally assesses what the house needs during that visit and directs her crew accordingly: Wood floors damp mopped as well as dusted today? Kitchen floor need scrubbing on this visit? Chandeliers/light fixtures need extra attention on this visit? -- Alba always is on the case, tailoring the service details to the house's needs on each given day.
Quality of work performed is never less than very good and frequently is outstanding. All surfaces are clean and (as appropriate) shining when we return home. The team accurately remembers specific instructions (No commercial cleaners/polishes on various case goods throughout the house that only get periodic treatment with Guardsman products, and so on). We try to be helpful and tidy up before the team arrives each week -- we have a toddler at home and so the house is often in a bit of disarray -- but the Executive Plus team always goes the extra mile to make the house as organized and inviting as possible by the time we come home that evening: The baby's toys are put into organized groups; magazines, mail and such stacked neatly on the counter; utensils and items in the drainboard put away, and so on. They deliver a level of personal attention that by any industry standard is highly commendable.
But we get still more value for our money: To the maximum possible extent during the time allotted to our house each visit (several hours), Alba and her team tackle additional household chores for us. Beyond merely putting fresh sheets on the various beds like the "big" firms do, Executive Plus also collects the stripped sheets, bath linens, and such and starts a washload for us. Clean clothes that the team finds in the laundry basket (My wife and I both work, and we have a toddler, remember, so our days are quite full) almost invariably are neatly folded and stacked on our bed when we come home (Alba offered even to put them away for us). Any miscellaneous recyclables go out to the curb (the team visits us on "recycling day"). Any stray items still in or beside the sink are washed and placed in the drainboard. Loose items (phone chargers, stray sippy cups, and so on) are neatly arranged on counters. It's a nice feeling to come home to.
Special requests? No problem. We bought our house "pre-owned" and eventually became concerned that the tile the previous owners had installed in the kitchen was becoming grimy and dull despite our best efforts. Alba tried a variety of products and techniques, over a period of weeks, until the results satisfied her as much as they did us. When my in-laws are coming, and we need our finished lower level spruced up before the guests arrive, a simple request sees the added work done efficiently and only at the expense of some "extra" service that week -- the basic quality of cleaning the upper levels never is compromised.
And finally, there are the "extras." Alba really does take over the house -- sort of a non-resident manager. When Executive Plus first started working with us, Alba introduced a range of subtle scented oils in various rooms, carpet fresheners and such -- unbidden and generally to outstanding effect. After a little feedback (the carpet powder was too strong for my liking), she tweaked things over the first few weeks, and in short order the house was cleaner and fresher even than we had anticipated. Alba leaves us notes when she has a suggestion or question ("Next week I think we need to do X," or "What did you guys think of Z?"), and doesn't hesitate to email my wife if she encounters a pressing issue or needs to communicate right away. (The team on more than one occasion has stumbled upon an errant piece of my wife's jewelry and put it away for her, then emailed her to let her know where it is. How many cleaning services can one relate such stories about?). On more than one occasion, too, Alba -- dissatisfied with the quality of work being performed by the guys from our yard service company -- has marched outside and corrected them on the spot, keeping an eye on them until the job was completed correctly.
The overall relationship and customer communication are great. The team members occasionally vary, but we appreciate the general consistency and take great comfort in knowing that Alba is on hand personally each visit. The rare instances of item breakage have been resolved quickly and efficiently. Executive Plus really gives us the sense of being able to "hand over the keys" and know that everything will be handled expertly. As with any other household service, clients can expect
to get from it what they put in. No one on the team is clairvoyant -- New clients should take advantage of Alba's willingness (indeed, request) to walk the house with her, explaining preferences, any special care needs, things to concentrate on or to leave alone, and so on. But once the procedures and desired "end state" are clear and agreed upon, one need have no worries from that point onward. The services (whether weekly or biweekly) generally cost slightly more than what a franchised operation would charge (though not by much), but the value for price paid is simply incomparable. The Executive Plus team generally has more members than the "big guys" send out, team members are typically experienced, efficient and thorough, and the overall breadth and quality of service delivered is simply outstanding.
The only reason I could think of for not recommending Executive Plus in the highest possible terms is that some small part of me is concerned that the business might become too popular, and at some point in the future we might have to fight for a slot on their weekly calendar. But rare gems like Executive Plus and Alba Havrilla really warrant sharing with a wider audience, and so I'm very happy to recommend them in the strongest possible terms. I have never encountered a cleaning service remotely like Executive Plus, and suggest that anyone who is in need of household services at least make an appointment for an initial consultation and estimate. Great work all around, across all facets of the service experience.
