I had purchased quality tires from Costco before as their rates are great. You can also shop while your car is serviced [after all isn't that the point of having the tire center there?]. I had ordered these tires from the website for delivery to the store. Installation at the store was included. There was a little issue with the store not calling me when the tires arrived. Then there was an issue when I called for an appointment to get them installed. That all got worked out, and it was just their computer system was not helping them provide good service. It just took a little extra persistence from me to make it work.
The tires were installed and all the lug nuts were tight. They ask that you come back in to ensure the lug nuts remain tight after 25 miles. I didn't becuase I have a torque wrench at home and I double checked at 25 miles myself. They were fine. I checked again at 600 miles, as this is what the owners manual says.
Immediately upon driving the car away from the store I heard a small squealing noise from the front left wheel. I did a quick walk around in the parking lot just to double check everything looked right. It did. I thought that it may just be the sound of new tires or something. The noise got louder after just a few days. In my experience, new tires may make a noise when they are new, but it goes away as the tire starts to ware. This noise was getting worse.
I called Costco Tire Center and they said I should bring it in. I did on November 8, 2012. The took a look, removed all the tires, and even re-ballanced some of them, and corected the pressure. They did not see anything else wrong, so they said I should get a mechanic to check it out.
The noise was the same as soon as I drove away, so what ever they did, it didn't address the noise. When I finally took it to a shop, it turned out that it was a broken bearing. Bearings are the part of the wheel axle that allows the axle to rotate the tire while the other components remain still. In all the mechanic manuals I have ever used they say very clearly that if you install the tire incorrectly you can damage the bearing.
I can't say for sure that the Costco installers damaged my bearing due to incompetence, but I can say for sure that it was fine before I gave it to them, and it was broken when I got it back. The repair was about $200 and half a day off work.
Due to this, I do not plan to use this shop again. I would use a different Costco tire center, just not this one. I am still a regular shopper of the Costco store, but when my girlfriend needed tires, we went to another place.

They are the same price as Tire Rack and then they install them. We usually buy our tires from Tire Rack but if they are the same price. They were punctual in getting us in and out.

We had 4 new tires mounted and balanced. The service also includes lifetime tire pressure check, rotate and balance and 5 year road hazard warranty. Mounting and balancing was $13 each compared to other dealers that are charging $20-$30 each. You may spend a little more for the brand name tires but in the end Costco is worth it. I showed up on a saturday morning without a appointment and they still completed the job in 2 hours. I was in the automotive business for 12 years and will recommend Costco tire department to anybody.

They did a fine job. They got it done when they promised. They had good quality work.

It's mounted on the wall. It has more than we know what to do with it. I love Costco.

When you purchase tires from them the rotation is free. Also, their prices on tires were better than anywhere else that I checked. They are very efficient and they got the work done in the amount of time they told me. They also seem knowledgable about both the products and service.

We think their prices and service are very competitive and in line with others. We just dropped off the auto and they called when it was finished so we could pick it up on our way home.
