On June 17, 2015 I had my surgery with Dr. Nain.  He had informed me that the exploratory surgery would take a little over an hour.  Six hours later Dr. Nain came out to talk to my husband to inform him that he discovered I had a twisted bowel, three hernias and five stomach ulcers.  My gastric bypass surgery was on December 10, 2008.  I hadn't had any issues since that time until this past spring.  Dr. Nain basically saved my life because he took the initiative to do the exploratory surgery to figure out what was wrong with me.  He explained to me that there is a little percentage of the bariatric patients who suffer from twisted bowels, hernias and scar tissue and that I was now one of them.  Dr. Nain also explained to me that since I have had this occurrence to not be surprised if this doesn't re-occur in the future again.  None of the visits to the ER had discovered what was wrong with me as none of the CAT/MRI scans came up with anything.  All I knew is that I was in excruciating pain and was losing weight rapidly.  Dr. Nain has a wonderful bedside manner and really does take the time to care and get to the bottom of the problem.  I was getting tired of the looks and the comments from other doctors and nurses stating that they couldn't find anything wrong and that I may have just ate something wrong.  Really?  I almost died!  Dr. Nain is my hero and I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat!

Phenomenal experience! Dr. Cohen was extremely knowledgeable and compassionate (not a common trait amongst surgeons). He explained the options and procedures, and his staff was extremely helpful in providing additional research materials to prepare me for the tough decisions that had to be made. Dr. Cohen came out to inform me of the initial progress and what to expect, and visited the hospital daily to check-up on my fiance. Dr. Cohe also made a great recommendation for a plastic surgeon and they worked well together. We would highly recommend Dr. Cohen, his Nurse Practitioner Lee Anne and the staff.
