A TO Z TYPEWRITER COMPANY

The machine was returned in extra-beautiful condition and functions perfectly. The case, while old and worn and still with one broken hinge, was spotlessly cleaned and is presentable. The case functions acceptably to protect the typewriter from dirt, dust and damage. Excellent work; I couldn't be more pleased. Mr. Keya clearly loves these old machines and it shows in his work. Do not hesitate to use this company.

We recently discovered an old Remington 5 typewriter at my mother-in-law's house. We wanted to have it restored as a present for our daughter. She is an aspiring writer so it was very special to her and she was really hoping to actually be able to type on it. We called Mr. Keya and he offered to come out and pick it up at our house the next day. We had some scheduling difficulties due to our schedule not his, but finally found a convenient day for him to pick it up. He explained to us what he had to do and that it might take a while because he had to find the parts. It did take about 3 weeks and when he was finally able to get the part he finished it quickly and drove all the way across town so that we could have it to give to our daughter on her actual birthday. We are very grateful to him for the time he took finding the parts and then the personal service he provided by picking it up and dropping it off. The price was a little high, but we knew that might be the case due to the antique nature of the machine.

My wife found a Royal KMG manual typewriter at a second hand store in Harrisonburg, VA, and bought it for me for under $50.00. While it appeared that the typewriter was functional, it was also clear that the machine had not been serviced recently, perhaps not in decades. I checked Angie's list, but couldn't find a current report, so I called a couple of typewriter collectors. They spoke highly of A to Z typewriter. I spoke with the company, and the service technician offered to come over that afternoon, but I had a television appearance, so we put it off until the next day. The technician arrived on time and inspected the typewriter carefully.
The technician, who I later learned was the Service Manager, Mr. Keya, clearly knew a great deal about the specific model of typewriter, and told me about some details of its history. He also described the service that needed to be done. He took the machine back to his shop, then called me a week later to say it was done. Unfortunately, I was once again out of the of the office, so he delivered it on Monday.
When I tested the typewriter, I found that the action was so smooth it could be called silky. Despite my decades of writing on a word processor, the action of this machine was nearly effortless. Clearly, A to Z had performed superb service - I could say it was like new, but in reality, the typewriter was better than new. The rough edges were gone, but the typewriter functioned perfectly.
When I got the typewriter I'd had in mind that the more intimate feel, and the slower operation would help in the creative parts of my writing. I think it will do all of this. While I still have to adjust to the different key placement, this machine, after being serviced by A to Z, is sheer joy to type on.
According to Mr. Keya, this typewriter will be 60 years old next year. I can only hope that it adds that much more joy to my writing life.

Very pleased with every aspect. Picked machine up and left a fine loaner machine, work was done in three weeks. Arranged to deliver refurbished machine at my convenience. It runs flawlessly and is very clean, the roller appears to be new. Furnished a new ribbon and correction tape.
