Sump pump stopped working during heavy rains. Sent several queries to different Angies List plumbers. 2 Brothers promptly responded and was able to schedule me same day. They have a mobile app that make the scheduling and arrival time information very easy to use. Work was performed professionally and all is well.

They broke the water heater but accepted no responsibility and needed to replace the whole unit. A $40.00 service cost us over two thousand dollars.
Response from 2 Brothers Plumbing
"Here at 2 brothers plumbing we would like to keep all customers completely happy if possible, but on the invoice wrote for your work, there was no indication of a broken heater, nor was any call placed to us regarding that. We flushed the heater and replaced the lower element, that would no way break a heater. so you say break as in destroy????? that doesn't even sound possible, still apologies for your dissatisfaction of anything we can do to give a better outlook please let us know."

The plumbers arrived within the given time window and called ahead to let us know they were on the way. The plumbers used a power snake to try and clean out the drain pipe leading from the kitchen sink to the main drain line. After about fifteen minutes of trying, the plumbers gave up without clearing the clog, stating that the drain pipe must instead be broken and allowing dirt to intrude. They suggested that a very expensive repair was necessary - ripping up the kitchen floor to replace the drain pipe, starting at $1,500. The plumbers then left. All told, they were on site for about 20-30 minutes. Since I rent, I contacted the landlord and repeated what I had been told. The landlord decided to send out his handyman to confirm the plumbers' findings. However, the handyman was able to push through the clog and clear it. Furthermore, he did not find any evidence of a busted pipe or any dirt intrusion in the drain. The kitchen sink now drains correctly. I have not attempted to contact the original plumbers to request a follow-up because there is now nothing for them to fix.

Outstanding! 2 brothers plumbing was very quick in getting back to me and came to our house the next day. They have excellent communications; they emailed and texted me about the upcoming appointment. They also called me a half hour before arriving and were very punctual. I love that they gave me a 1 hour window and arrived at the beginning of that time. The staff were professional and courteous. They cleared the clogged drain within 20 minutes. I would definitely use them again!

I called 2 Brothers one evening, asking for assistance ASAP. They came out the next day to give an estimate. They ended up fixing the corroded pressure reducing valve and evaluated the ABS and found it didn't need repair. We're thankful they were so punctual, they communicated effectively (via text and email), and they were able to handle everything in one visit.

The replaced the top heating element, and overall I was very satistifed with the service. They left the temperature turned too high, but other than that, their scheduling service was great. They did good quality work. I would maybe use them again in the future. I would consider it.

Jemal is great! He made an effort to squeeze us in before he left for vacation, gave me a courtesy text on his way from his previous job and arrived right on-time, was friendly and professional the whole time he was at our house, got the problem solved, and cleaned up after himself before leaving. His prices are even very reasonable to boot.

I feel that the tank was only drained, which I could have accomplished with a water hose attached to the tank outlet. What I thought I was paying for was a flushing of the tank. The tank is 17+ years old and I assumed that the elements would require replacement, especially the bottom element. But I was informed that; that would be an additional $200. I have nothing bad to say about the company or the gentleman that came out to perform the task I just got duped by the fine print, entirely my fault.

I'd like to start by saying that, under normal circumstances, I'd have done all this work myself. I'm plenty comfortable working with old copper plumbing, have all the needed tools, and while I'm not a professional I do have a pretty good idea what I'm doing. I grew up in an old farm house built in 1864; the heat and all the water in the house were via copper pipes, and the heat used a much older boiler and baseboard system than what I have. I learned through doing with my father and have conducted several previous repairs and modifications successfully at this house. All that said, we had the bleeder valve blow out on the baseboard in our living room and water was everywhere. In trying to isolate the bad valve and drain the water from the heating loop, I found several other valves that were either completely bad or at least leaked from the stem when you turned them, so they all needed to be replaced too. However, when this happened, I had a bleeding hole in my stomach and a 102+ degree fever. I was in no mood or form to be running torches and sweating joints. When Jemal showed up for the estimate, I already had the entire boiler system isolated and drained, and my wife and I had most of the mess in the living room cleaned up with box fans running to help with drying. After walking him through where the leak was and taking a look, and showing him the couple of valves that needed replaced, the estimate he gave me was "about $800 and could take me most of the day". I assumed I was missing something. $800, 8 hours, $100/hour, less no more than $50 in materials, I figured fine, I'm in no mood to haggle as that's a fair enough rate for the area. Jemal and a +1 showed up the next morning with a +1 to do the work. They were gone 45 minutes later, work-done, and he didn't blink an eye or budge at charging me $800 for 45 minutes of work, with no specialized tools or effort required, and about $50 in parts i could have gotten from Home Depot. Now, if he /genuinely/ thought it would take all day, and being a pretty small operation, if he intentionally pushed off work for the day and was now left with no other work to do after my "job", I get that he had to charge me the full rate just to make ends meet. I didn't get the feeling at all though that this was the case. Still, if I were him, I'd have found a few other things to fix and work on... billing 8 hours for 45 minutes work, and obviously not being able to get out the door fast enough, then expecting the client to be pleased when you smile at them and take their money is not the way to build a good client relationship. The work he actually did was satisfactory, although he didn't even replace all the valves I asked him to. At that point, I just wanted him the f*** out of my house so I could get back to my, by that time, 103 degree fever. Zero stars. Would not recommend based off of this experience. Find someone else.

Everything went fine. Jamal was efficient and timely and did the job impeccably. The only issue I had was that I was charged an additional $229. I understand that I had a drain pan put under the water heater and that Jamal needed to install a new valve for the unit (items which were not in the original install price), but the amount charged seemed to be a little excessive. Nonetheless, 2 Brothers did a fine job putting in the new unit and hauling away the old one.
