I had just had my den painted and was very happy with the color but needed assistance picking out a flooring that would blend with the walls and furnishing. My home was scheduled to be on the Smith Mountain Charity Home Tour in October of 2008 and getting it right was important to me. Carrie came out to my house and then I met her days later at her office with my paint sample in hand, to look at her suggestions. Her first one was a cork flooring that was very light. I don't like and have never had light floors in any rooms except bath or kitchens so I quickly and clearly told her I did not like it. She then showed me a darker version with a more brown hue which I loved and which blended beautifully with the paint sample. We proceeded to select a carpeting that went with both. Instead of writing down the number of any of my choices she left them together on the floor, the correct cork sample, carpet sample, and paint sample. Her partner took the cork sample that I didn't want and removed it to a table indicating that it should be kept away from the one selected so as not to get them mixed up. Carrie rushed off to work with another client. I was not home during the period when the flooring was delivered and installed. I was shocked when I got home to find that the light cork had been installed. It was awful and did not blend at all with the walls. I got in the car and went immediately to her office and she said I had picked out the light one, refused to admit that it did not go with the paint although we stood there together and anyone could clearly see the light cork sample did not blend well with either the paint sample or the carpet sample. She said she thought it looked fine and that the problem must be the lighting in my house. She has refused to take responsiblity for it and I had to repaint my den and buy another area carpet because the one ordered from her looked so awful. this was all because she didn't write it down when we selected the correct sample. If she was correct, it would make her the worse decorator in the world for picking out flooring that did not go with anything else selected in the decorating process. Stay away from this woman.
Description of Work: I used Carrie at Envisions to help me select flooring and an area rug for my den. I purchased the flooring and rug from her at Envisions.
