There were several delays in the closing of our new home, which Jim courteously worked with us on.
Jim performed several diagnostic tests upon starting work, explained the numbers and what they meant, then immediately began work to fix the issues. The master bath was between 8-10 degrees warmer than the master bedroom, due to lack of proper sheathing. You could actually see the sink and bathtub pipes were exposed to the cold zone over the garage. Less than an hour after Jim finished work on the area, the temperature had normalized down to match the master bedroom. The results were immediate and obvious.
During the course of his work sealing gaps, duct boots, and penetrations in the attic, Jim discovered that one of the HVAC ducts was partially detached, resulting in much of the air just being blown into the attic space. This is something that both the home inspector and HVAC maintenance crew missed, which Jim happily fixed for us.
After getting to know our neighbor's a bit, we've learned that we're saving around and average of 35% on our energy bills (electricity & natural gas). I cannot recommend the Enlightened Home more highly.
