I'm extremely disappointed in the experience I had with McKenzie Home Improvements.  They were contracted by our condo's management company to replace the screen door covering our balcony door.  They came, installed the improper size, and left after saying they installed the wrong size, but that it "fit".  This, coupled with our air conditioning being nonfunctional all summer, left us with the choice of leaving the door open and letting every insect in the world into our condo, or living in a non-ventilated 90 degree condo between the months of April - November.  Remember, in Virginia, we had a 70 degree day on CHRISTMAS DAY.  This was a constant.
We later had them come out, again, after rescheduling at least once.  The man that came out, I believe, was Matt McKenzie, the owner.  We were notably frustrated, and became even moreso when he claimed that the screen door "Functioned as intended".  He even had the gall to tell us that it was supposed to not fit flush against the door frame, and that we should expect the behavior.  When tempers flared, he left, saying "I didn't sign up for this".
That kind of behavior, not even as a small business owner, but as an adult in the business world, is completely pathetic.  How old are you, Matt?  Are you honestly so immature that you'll feel attacked by the phrase "This is f****** ridiculous" and storm off of a job site that you were paid to be on?
I received a poorly worded email from him after the fact, in which he described in a fairly incoherent manner the events that occurred.  I emailed him back, requesting to speak to him over the phone, and then later called and left a voicemail.  While I made my best effort to clear things up, McKenzie Home Improvements obviously has no intention of acting with any degree of maturity or responsibility.  As someone who is getting ready to buy a home, it's honestly quite valuable to know which contractors in the area are capable of performing as intelligent, responsible adults, and which are not.
I highly recommend you avoid McKenzie home Improvements in the future.
