Frosted Crumbs

I was very displeased with the service.  I visited the store for tasting and was very please with the sampling.  The cake I ended up with was very dry and the frosting was gummy.  The biggest disappointment was that I had provided an antique cake plate to Frosted Crumbs I wanted used for the display.  I delivered it in plenty of time.  When I got to my reception I saw the cake set up on a piece of cardboard.  I was so very disappointed because I chose the simplistic cake design because it would have been such a lovely presentation on the art deco style cake plate.  The cake lost all drama just sitting in the middle of the table.  The staff at the reception site was very accommodating and created a makeshift plate that was better than the ugly cardboard provided by Frosted Crumbs.  A few days later I visited Frosted Crumbs to pick up my plate and to see what happened.  The owner was behind the counter (I believe his name is Brian, but I may be wrong about that) and I told him who I was and about the plate being absent from the reception.  He turned on his heel and went into an ajacent room where parties are held and sent another man out to see me.  The man apologized and said that they totally forgot about the plate which he returned to me.  I never saw the owner again.  I was appalled that the owner was not involved in the discussion with me about my dissatisfaction with the service.  He made no effort to do anything to ensure my continued support of his business (if I were the owner of the place, I would have given an unhappy customer some sort of concession such as a discount on the service, or a free dozen cupcakes or a certification for a discounted future cake...something to show the customer's business is valued).  The owner never even apologized to me.  He killed me with kindness when he wanted my business and plied me with several free cupcakes, but when it came down to rectifying and error he didn't have the courage to stand up and take ownership of mistake.  What a terrible businessman.  This place won't last long.
