We chose Sword Hardwood Flooring because the company facility is in our neighborhood and Sword has a well-established presence in our area. We replaced about 400 square feet of carpeting with hardwood in our master bedroom and walk-in closet. The company owner visited our home with samples of the wood flooring, clearly explained our options, and emailed a cost estimate a few days afterward. The hardwood floor was installed on schedule two weeks after we accepted the estimate. The project required only one day to complete. The installer installed quarter-round shoe molding he stained to match the wood floor color. The installer hauled away the old carpet and cleaned up thoroughly after the project was completed. We are highly satisfied with the work and the appearance of the flooring.

Based  on a recommendation, we engaged a major flooring company to refinish our floors.  The result was so bad, with gouges in the floor, hair trapped under the finish, hazy looking and rough floor after the second coat was applied.  We then terminated this contractor and hired Sword Flooring.
Everything about this company is professional, the detailed proposal, the management, the crew, etc.  We were very apprehensive and  concerned about re-sanding and starting over again.  The lead person on the team assured us that he could resolve our floor issues and that we would be pleased with the results.  Not only did they remove all the gouges, machine lines, and haziness that the previous contractor caused, but they completely restored the floors.  The end result is superb!!!  I can't say enough good things about this company.  They are only slightly higher in cost but worth every penny, especially considering that they spent almost double the time of the previous company and used only the best products and state of the art equipment.  I might want to also mention that we had little to no dust.
I highly recommend this com

They were totally incompetent in laying down hardwood floors.  Firstly, they do not use a leveler, so how is one going to know if the floors are leveled without a leveler.  They laid the hardwood floors down over uneven sub-floors, that should have been corrected first, but they didn’t do that and they didn’t bring it to the owner’s attention.  The contract states that if there is any additional cost involved because the sub-floors is not done right, then they are supposed to bring it to the owner’s attention and the owner would pay for that, and they didn’t do that.  They even acknowledged that they did not use a leveler and they were incompetent to fix it.  President of the company, Gary Sword came over to my house to look at the irregularity, which in one case was a very large mound that was the size of a grapefruit, and he diagnosed the problem incorrectly, proposed to tear off all the floors, the sub-floors, and to shave down the beams.  I thought none of that was necessary and all they had to do was take out a couple of pieces of the hardwood and see if the plywood was buckling underneath.  He was totally incompetent and then he lost his temper and we had to ask him to leave the house and tell him that otherwise we would call the police.  He would not let the homeowner talk.  He did not meet the standards of the industry; the flooring was not the proper distance from the walls so that the floors could breathe.  Not only was the floors not leveled but it didn’t not meet the standards.  Then we offered to pay for any additional costs, as the contract states, for doing any additional work on the sub-floors, and they sent me a bill for $244 and all the invoices for around $80 for materials.  We should not have paid any additional cost for labor because we had already paid that in the initial $10000, so I asked for all the additional invoices to pay it, and then they said I should be charged additionally on top of that for shop piece, we are paying for additional direct cost.  They refused to finish the job and the floors in the second floor bedroom are still not leveled.

They were wonderful. Their price was reasonable compared to others. They were professional; all the people that worked for them were very professional. They got the job done, and they cleaned up after.

From start to finish we had an excellent experience with Sword Hardwood Flooring.
The professional advice we received from them was excellent and the upgrade in finish recommended was well worth the additional cost. There was no pressure selling and a full explanation of different kinds of services available really helped in our decision making process. Sword completed all work on time with a full clean up. After completion, Sword gave us direction on complete floor care for the future.

We used them not because of the best price, but because of a referral. We signed a contract and they started the job in 4 weeks and were finished in 7 days. We left the house for 10 days and when we came back everything was perfect. We absolutely recommend them.
