Plumbing Solutions of VA Inc

On Sunday, 09/11, in trying to save some money and removing an old vanity myself, I needed to remove 2 old shutoff valves from behind the vanity in order to get the old vanity out. Unfortunately, I could not get the new valves to set, they were dripping even with the water turned off, thus I could not wait until Monday to call a plumber. I had new valves, so no parts were needed. After calling Plumbing Solutions, they came out in 1-1/2 hours which was as stated. Obviously a husband and wife (wife was the more professional of the two), he flopped down on the floor and proceed to take approximately 10 minutes to do what I could not do, including sautering the new valve on. No parts. 15 minute job. I told him I was remodeling, would, within weeks, need new sinks installed in all bathrooms, kitchen, etc., so gave him the opportunity to offer a bid on that, which he spent the next 45 minutes telling me what not to do, what to do, etc.. I knew this was a Sunday call, expected to pay extra for it. The kicker was this man charged me $435.00 for a job that took approximately 10 minutes with 0 parts. He said he charged time and a half OT, with the normal price being $275.00. Thus even on a weekday job he would have charged $275.00 for a 10 minute/no part job. Unfortunately, I am a single older woman. I paid the bill and am furious at myself for getting myself into the situation in the first place, but am equally furious at this plumber for taking advantage of the situation I had gotten myself into. Needless to say, I have told everyone I know about this guy, and will NOT be calling him back to finish my upcoming plumbing jobs. Unfortunately, there is no last name on my receipt, only the first names of John and Loretta. Be VERY WARY OF PLUMBING SOLUTIONS OF VA FOR ANY PLUMBING JOBS THAT YOU MAY HAVE. They could care less and are obviously out to get as much money as they can. I will also contact the Better Business Bureau regarding my experience.
