Extremely well. From my first contact with their friendly and helpful phone staff, to the thorough inspection by a friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable inspector, to the very detailed and illustrated final report, Pillar to Post was first class. I recommend their services without reservation.

Showed up on time. Was a quick and rather superficial inspection completed in about an hour. I didn't feel like I had a thorough understanding of the property's condition based on this inspection.
Response from Pillar To Post Professional Home Inspection

"This review is on our business site and it is not our customer. We are sorry for the bad experience you had with another franchisee outside our area."

The inspector arrived on time and was very courteous and pleasant to work with.  I was very impressed with his work and would definitely use them again. Price was a little high but worth it. I understand they are one of a couple of primary providers of this service in the area. Would recommend them to others. I really appreciated him taking the time to review and explain all the things he found in the inspection both positive and things needing to be fixed.
The inspector also responded to a follow up request to provide photos in separate files and was prompt in sending the requested pictures.

Provider supposedly inspected the home. Missed big ticket items, like a
leaky roof, blocked drainage, insect infretation. All this service is
to pretend to be a home inspection service. Actually they only point
out problems, if they notice them and refer you to a professional.
$4000.00 and still mounting of structural?system problems they did not
find. Stupid, not fit for their service. Could not answer if the furnace had sufficient BTU's for the house, really very poor report. We warn any and all to hire professionals in their field of expertise instead of this unqualified group. Refused to go on the roof. Going on the roof is a standard part of home inspection. Said they would go on the roof over the phone and showed up and refused.

Our home inspector was excellent. He arrived early and had already completed the exterior inspection prior to the scheduled start time. Inside the home he was thorough but worked quickly. He explained anything that we had questions about. So far it seems that he caught almost everything he could have.

We recently put a contract in on a house which was ratified on Fri. June 7. We called pillar to post on Monday June 10 to schedule a home inspection. The call was answered by a friendly receptionist who informed us that the earliest someone could come out would be Monday June 17. When we asked specifically for John Lynch (based on our realators suggestion) we were told his earliest avalability was Tue. June 18. We accepted even though this was the last day that we could submitt results from the inspection to the seller for repairs if needed. After the call we recieved an email confirming our appointment time and explainations of 3 different levels of inspection and the price for each level. A link in the email took us to a website that allowed us to select the inspection package of our choice. We chose the cheapest package which covered all of the basics. After choosing the package on the website we got another email confirming the package that we chose. It was a clean and simple process that I really appreciated.
John Lynch arrived early on the day of inspection and was there before we arrived 15 min. before the appoinment time. John was friendly, extremely knowledgable and thorough. The inspection took about 3 hours (for a 2700 sq ft house) and John wrote the report on his laptop as he conducted the inspection. He walked through the house and pointed out every major issue and gave us several pointers for how to maintain the house in the future. At the end he gave use a binder with the bullet points of the major issues with the house. He proceeded to explain each bullet to us and our realator and said that we could expect a full 30-40 page report in the next couple of days. Having the bullet points immediately was key for us. We went to our realator's office immediately after the inspection and were able to generate our list of requested repairs for the seller thus meeting our deadline. A link to the full report was emailed to us the next day.
Additionally, John thought that we had requested the mid level inspection package and had performed the additional inspection options. Before he billed us (on the spot at the end of the inspection) he asked if we had indeed requested the mid level inspection. I said the we had actually requested the lowest inspection level, but that I had seen him using the FLIR camera which was part of the mid level package and that I didn't mind paying the additional cost because I had seen him do the work and was pleased with his performance. John immediately said no problem and proceeded to charge us for the cheaper package that we originally requested. On top of that we had forgotten our check book, but John was able to run our credit card right there in the house.
John Lynch's Pillar to Post company is excellent in every way and we highly recommend him to anyone seeking a home inspector.
By the way we are not related to John Lynch even though we have the same last name.

They gave us a printout of their findings on the spot. It was all in a note book and very organized. They sent out two people for 4 hours of inspection. They called to confirm the appointment and showed up on time.

John made a special effort to accommodate us in a rapid timeline. He gave the house a thorough review. 6 months later, no new problems have arisen. Indeed, one problem he identified came true, even though we asked the seller to repair the problem, which correctly identified that the seller did not complete the repairs as agreed. John took the time to answer a general question we had about siding, 6 months after his inspection. He works with integrity, and his work is solid. We definitely recommend his service!
