Description of Work: This is a family run business with exceptional expertise in all makes of foreign cars and outstanding customer service. We have been going to them for over 15 years and they have never disappointed us. They even brought a battery to me once when I was stranded and replaced it in my church parking lot. The garage is immaculately clean and the staff treat us like family. During the holidays they serve homemade cookies to waiting customers. They have not only kept our cars clean and serviced, but also helped to find replacement cars when needed, searching tirelessly for us to find exactly what we were looking for. Awesome family, staff, and business!!!!

Description of Work: We have been purchasing cars and using the repair and maintenance services for over 15 years. in this particular situation, my mini cooper broke down and they started a rebuilding job, only to find in the middle of it that there were bigger issues than we thought. Rather than continuing the repair job and getting a lot of $ from us, they halted the work and recommended that we not spend more $ on this car because of the mileage already on it. They offered us a great trade in on another vehicle which was a quick and good solution to our problem. They have impeccable service, fair prices.

+ -1 moreA nightmare with which many of us are familiar is to have your car break down when you're on the road. In the middle of a day trip from Washington DC to Williamsburg, VA, my battery warning light went on and my car's voltage started to drop. I limped my car to the shop at European Cars of Williamsburg with my battery nearly drained. The shop was closed for the weekend, so I contacted the staff through their website to find out if I could leave my car at the shop. No problem. I dropped off my key and wrote them a note explaining what had happened. I have never been to these guys before and I didn't know them from Adam! I did a quick search of reviews online and found a mix of negative and positive, but generally they were considered a trustworthy operation. The following Monday I got a call from the owner 'Gus.' He confirmed that it was the alternator and wanted to know when I needed the car. I told him there was no rush and that I would be back later in the week to pick it up. They started by recharging the battery and completing their diagnostics. After giving them the 'go ahead' they replaced the alternator, which, in my vehicle (A6, 2.7 turbo) can be extremely difficult to get at. They had it ready for me that same day. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to retrieve my car until the following Friday which wasn't a problem for them. They offered to hold it at their shop at no additional charge; a small detail for which I was very grateful. When we arrived at the shop my wife and I were greeted by the friendliest family you could ever meet. As a family business, European Cars, embodied the values of hospitality and service. When you contract with a auto repair shop, sight unseen, there's always some uncertainty and concern that the mechanic will take advantage of the situation and suggest a ton of other, usually unnecessary, repairs. There was none of that. Gus and Marina Fotiadis took good care of us and we were grateful for their professionalism and responsiveness. Their adult children are also taking part in the business - Chris a mechanic and Helen in administration. It's truly a wonderful operation; all in all a great experience!

We have been to them countless times for everything from new timing belts, tires, brakes, inspections, etc and have always received great service, communication, and a fair deal. Plus: it feels so much better supporting a hard working family business instead of a dealership. Do- take your car to them for service. Do NOT- waste your money at the dealership.
Description of Work: Gus and his team of talented technicians are top notch in every way. You can always get your car in for service in a reasonable time frame and can trust you will not be taken advantage of. I am confident in their work and if I ever have questions about the problems my car is having or the service that it needs, they always take the time to explain it in detail. We have never had a bad experience and have been taking our Volkswagen and BMW to these guys since about 2004. I recommend them with confidence to anyone driving a European car! You know it is going to cost a little bit to get European cars fixed, but it is nice to have the peace of mind to know you aren't being charged for services you don't need. Use them! You won't be disappointed.
