The drive gear for the garage door opener broke off. I called American Garage Door Repairs in the morning and he showed uo AND replaced the gearunit the same day! Plus, he called back twice to give an updated ETA@ Am very impressed with his service, his knowledge, and his communication skills!

After the initial visit for an estimate, Ron and I talked several times by phone about the job. The problem was that the original door was installed poorly, with the track being secured only to the face boards and not directly to the studs. The studs framing the door were too far apart to anchor the door track directly to them. I did not want the new door to be mounted in the same inferior way. Ron had the idea to fashion custom brackets (at no extra charge) that would reach to the studs and anchor the door track to them. He would also replace the face boards covering the studs, as these were cracked in several places. I liked his ideas and hired him for the job. He did excellent work on both the door and opener. I am very satisfied that the job was done right. If I had called in a big name company, I doubt if they would have been responsive to any custom work. Ron was always willing to answer my many questions, and was a great guy to deal with. I recommend him without hesitation.

Ron returned phone call within 30 minutes and was at the house within one hour. Ron performed the repair within 40 minutes and the garage door operates just like new.

Ron is a true professional. Called ahead of time to confirm arrival time. Performed the work efficiently and described what he was doing. Really pleased with his work. I will use him again. He wasn't the cheapest or most costly but fair.

Better than expected service. Called at 4:00pm, described problem and requested approximate cost to repair. He offered to come within the hour to provide an estimate which was in line with other costs paid by Angie's list customers. I committed the work to him and he stayed and completed the work by 6:30 the same day. Excellent and professional service and a great relief since one of our cars was unable to exit the garage until the work was completed.

Went great!  Called Ron on Thursday evening and told him the issue.  He said he'd be at my house between 10:00 and 11:00 the next day and arrived at 09:50!!  Had all the required parts, got to it and was done in less than an hour.  He was professional, courteous and mindful of my car in the garage.  I would highly recommend him for garage door repairs etc.

His cost of repair was not fair of what he did. He took advantage of a single lady who needed help. He also did not have a service card and not  ready to fix it even after I talk to him on the phone before hand.

He evaluated the situation, was very personable, ensured that both husband and wife knew the cost of repairs before he started and completed the repairs without trying to sell us any repair parts or other services.  He reattached the door, straightened the tracks, ensured all worked as it should and was gone within an hour or so.  The door is quieter now, and I am a very happy customer who could not recommend any garage door repair firm more highly.  AND i'm not exactly easy to please :)

I telephoned at 9:00 am today and discussed my broken garage door with a friendly and polite customer service operator.  She immediately organized a call out for my repair that day and offered a slot between noon and 1:00 pm.  The service technician (Ron)arrived just slightly after noon and was very knowledgeable.  He diagnosed the problem within minutes and pointed out the broken spring which had split in two, thus leaving the garage door inoperable.   He provided an estimate to replace the spring and thankfully carried the parts with him, leaving us with a perfectly working door that day, instead of having to wait for parts to be ordered.  Ron worked in a swift and professional manner and when finished, asked me to examine the garage door in motion to ensure I was satisfied with the repair.  At no time did I feel pushed in to having more (unnecessary) work or repairs carried out as some companies do.  This was a five star service from start to finish and I would highly recommend this company and Ron for repair or replacement work.

Came out a day in advance and found the garage doors were 8' rather than 7'. Called and said he would be a little later than the original appointment because he needed to go to Richmond to get a longer rail which he did not have in stock. He called from Richmond to tell me exactly when he would arrive which was only an hour later than the original appointment before he knew he had to go to Richmond. The job was completed on time. He checked everything to insure it worked well which it did,

The garage door would only partially open due to broken main spring.  Called for service at 12:30 PM and Ron arrived around 3:30 PM as he said he would do.  The repairs were completed in about an hour.  Door works fine.  Neat, professional work.  New parts guaranteed for five years.

I called American Garage Door Repair at 8:00 am on a Saturday.  Ron (the sole employee) answered the phone promptly gave me a fair quote and said he could be here by 10:00am.  He was a few minutes early, had the whole job done in a little over an hour.  He performed quality work, was very knowledgeable and personable.  Finished the job, cleaned up and was on his way.  Thank you Ron!

My garage door opener failed to operate the garage door properly.  I found American Garage Door Repair on Angie's List and called them for an assessment.  The service man told me that there was a problem with the opener and a separate problem with the springs.  He gave me a price for the repairs ($360.00) and completed the repairs right away.  The garage door opener has worked fine since the repairs (two months).

Our garage door jammed halfway open. It is a 42 year-old wooden 2-car garage door that I thought would have to be replaced, but I was dreading that high cost. I wanted it fixed if possible. I checked Angie's List and liked American Garage Door Repairs' focus on springs, cables and repairing doors. Ron responded to my voice mail immediately when I called him on the Labor Day holiday. We arranged for a next day inspection. He arrived a little early and fixed the door quickly. I was pleasantly surprised at the low cost. He estimated "a couple hundred bucks" before he began and that's exactly what I paid. Very professional, dependable, affordable, and most of all, friendly, service. Thanks Ron!

Ron answered the phone on the first call.   I told him the problem and he told me he had the parts and gave me a quote.   He came out the next day and arrived on time.   He was friendly, knowledgable and professional.   It was not an easy job and didn't charge me any more then his quote.  (I feel other places would have).    He did the job in a little over an hour.
The door works better then when it was new!
