As with most older electronics, it is almost always expected to have some problem after 40+ years of use. I was able to do perform a search on repair of classic stereo receivers and located Action Electronics. I initially emailed them with a description of my receiver and the problems it had. The shop owner returned my email promptly and informed me of his initial bench charge for evaluating the receiver for repair. I then took the receiver to UPS and shipped it to him. A day or two after it had been received, the owner of the shop called and told me that there appeared to be no serious problems and that he would be able to realign the FM and AM oscillators, clean all the controls and give the unit a general cleaning. He called me back a few days later to inform me that it was ready for pickup at my convenience. When I picked it up, it had been completely cleaned inside and out as well as tested thoroughly. The owner even loaded it into my car! Mr. Hibbard is very professional and is excellent in communicating with his customers to ensure that they understand the costs involved in repairs. An excellent bargain and fair price for the work that was completed.
