Very, very disappointing experience; Lux replaced the foundation of my 1850 log cabin. The design was bad, the communication was bad, the execution was bad. Throughout the entire process, they were making mistakes. I now need to pay another company to fix the mess they left behind. I would strongly suggest not using this company!

We needed a reliable contractor to fix problems with our foundation. Lux Foundation Solutions was recommended to us based on previous work by the West Virginian realtor we worked with for our house. First, Matt came out, performed an assessment and explained everything well. He was friendly and answered all my questions about the work being performed. That set the tone for a great experience! After the estimate was received I made an appointment. The day of the appointment Adam’s team arrived exactly on time: I live somewhat remote and that his team was on time really speaks for the company and it’s work culture and ethics! Adam and his team worked in the crawl space, which was difficult for me to get into. Adam kept me informed throughout the process and even took pictures after the job was done to show me the results. The quality of the work speaks for itself! I’m very happy to have hired Lux Foundation Solutions and they are my first company to call if another job needs to get done! I highly recommend the company for your crawl space work!

LUX came out, gave us a proposal and fixed price and carefully spec'd out the work. They had a large hickory tree to work around and not damage; their workers were polite, hardworking, competent, and cleaned up daily. The project was finished within the time frames planned and within the affordable budget we'd set out. It was a difficult project due to the hillside they were working on, and the large old patio stones that had to be taken up carefully and then reset at the end of the project. We were VERY please with the planner, the foreman, the workers and the quality of the work overall. We would hire them again for foundation and stone work.

Jan. 20, 2021 We recently needed to have a major foundation issue looked at and evaluated prior to purchasing a house in Stephens City. Tony, from Lux, showed up before the appointed time, was very professional, was thorough in evaluating the foundation issue, took pics of the area in question, was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to about the issue, and he provided a very detailed report with photos. I'm pretty amazed at how quickly Alex and his crew were able to lift my entire house and install drainage on both sides of the house. The team was the definition of professional and knowledgeable. From the start, they were extremely considerate of my house, and put everything back the way they found it - almost like they weren't even there to begin with! Didn't even know this was possible! They didn't stop there though, they even filled a few small holes in the yard with some extra dirt and put grass back where it was messed up. All I can say is SUPER AWESOME job!!

Before we decided on LUX, we talked to representatives from 2 companies; both companies suggested the same plan of action to fix the problem. The representative from LUX was forthright about what could realistically be done in terms of lifting the garage and gave us some time to think about his proposal. The other company’s representative assured us that his company could do much more, but he refused to put that into the contract (“They won’t let me,” he said). The other company was also asking for six or seven thousand dollars more, so our choice was clear. The workmen from LUX arrived on time, and they didn’t bother us at all (no requests to use the bathroom or anything along those lines). We heard the jackhammering, of course, but other than that, the job was quiet. The foreman was always polite and ready to answer questions, and the crew always cleaned up at the end of the day (it was a 5-day job). We’re quite pleased with LUX’s work, and we definitely recommend the company.

We were not happy about having to do this work after our basement flooded...it was not in the budget. LUX was patient with all of our questions and the time we took to meet with other companies. I am selling my home and the buyer's inspector found cracks in the foundation that we were unaware of. With closing approaching I needed help quickly. Keegan came to my house within a couple of days, gave me his professional assessment of the possible problems, recommended solutions to the problems and estimated best case and worst case pricing. Lux professionals were back at my house in a few days with equipment that made the digging go fast and did not damage my deck or landscaping. The solution turned out to be best case and Lux's prices were reasonable. The dig was done and the area was restored better than it was before. I highly recommend Lux Foundation Solutions.

Lux foundation repair did a wonderful job at my home. I have 4 pipes coming into my home that had deteriorating seals around the pipe. The seals had deteriorated to the point that I had a large plastic box under the pipes so that after every rain I would collect the water that otherwise would have destroyed our finished basement. After small storms, I would collect a couple gallons, after very large storms, I would collect over 8 gallons of water in the box. I spoke to one contractor who suggested excavating the outside of the home. No small task since the pipes enter about 6’ below grade and it would have involved removing several established plants. I was surprised with the estimator from Lux informed me that they could solve the problem from inside the home. I was surprised that the estimator was very confident that he could not only fix the problem, but guarantee that it would fix the problem. The work team arrived on time, quickly did their work and left. When the next storm arrived, I checked the box….no water at all. Was it painless? Yes. Was it worth the money? Yes.

I was impressed with the information given at time of quote. I was told that even though some companies would do a fill repair that they would not do that type of work because they did not feel like it would fix the problem long term. They were honest and gave me another solution, that although a little more costly would permanently fix the issue. After doing some research I believed their suggestion was indeed the best way to go. My only complaint is that it took several months to get on their calendar. They were up front with this at the time I booked with them and did show up around the time the told me they would. The job was done professionally and turned out well.

They installed a sump pump and put in a trench around the inside basement walls. The water has never made it to the sump pump. My sump pump is dry. The moisture in the basement has gone from 20 cups a week in the dehumidifier to 20 + cups a night. Moisture is coming up from the floors. I call and speak to someone and then they don't call back. I have bee try to resolve this since April.

I hired Alex three years ago to stop the water from coming into our Florida room. After going threw four other contractors he was the only one that took care of the problem. Now we hired him again 7/19/18 to take care of the water coming into our basement. He sent out Tyrik, Corey, Nathan, Casey J;mony, Cody and Joe. They were very professional and and kept informing my husband of the progress they were making. At the end Tyrik explained everything they did and told us if we are not happy with any of the work they will fix it right now.

Lux did a first rate job at a very reasonable price (based on other bids). Their approach was to solve my problem, working with me on alternatives to give the best result. Their professionalism and thorough work effort is hard to beat in this day and age. I have recommended them to neighbors and two professional home inspectors that I know. Great crew; after all the digging, etc., they left my property looking better than before they started!

Very well. They were there when they said they would be and got the work done in the time frame promised. Only concern was the slow responsiveness of replies from the owner prior to work start. But it was worthy it because they did the work on schedule, which is what really counts.

The whole process from start to finish was much better then I could have hoped for. We knew we had a big problem with water in our basement and cracks in our foundation walls. The original representative Alex was involved and still is always available to assist our clients. He unfortunately had a family member that became severely ill. Alex elected to take some time off making him temporarily unavailable. He has since reached out to assist in resolving your concerns with no response. It is of note that yours and all of our Structural projects are certified by Independent Structural and Geotechnical Engineers. Your homes project was certified in accordance with Local and International Code Compliance regulations including a soil study, carefully monitored installation logs and inspections throughout the whole project. Alex was present throughout most of the project and even assisted in the installation. The stress cracks in reference were offered by us to be repaired, as instructed by the structural engineer of record using epoxy or other strengthening method. Our offer to repair the cracks as instructed by the Engineer still stands and we would be happy to assist in resolving this and any other outstanding concerns you have. Outstanding. They dug to the bottom of the foundation and patched the entire length of the crack, inside and outside. The outside patch was heavy black epoxy with a very heavy rubber patch 3 feet by 8 feet. They did some drain work at the base of the foundation. The pit was about 6 feet deep. The yard looked better after they had finished than before they started. They returned the inside basement wall insulation to original state along with an inside patch. Work crew of 3. I had three companies come to inspect and give me an estimate. LUX was the best price. One company suggested an inside patch only which would not last the life of the building. Very professional and hard working. After cleanup it appeared as if no one had done major work on my house. They were the best contractor and lowest price.
