Modr's Service Center

Hide On 3/31/2015 I Tracey S. Hopwood spoke with Ryan Modr of Modr's service center in West Point Va. about moving my tool box. Through a verbal contract we agreed on a cost of $150.00 to move my tool box from west point Va. to Ashland Va. I called Modr's service center 804-843-2433 later that morning to have a truck come to get my tool box. The driver Mike, showed up and loaded the tool box and secured it to the roll back tow truck. We then set out for Ashland, About 6 to 8 miles into the trip the tail on one of the ratchet straps came loose and got under the right drive axle tires. This pulled down the strap until it broke and severely damaged my tool box. The truck had also ended up with some damage so we had to turn around and return to Modr's service center. The tool box had to be transferred to a different truck because the first truck needed more repairs before it could be driven again. So again the tool box was secured to the second truck, I again spoke with Ryan Modr to determine to coarse of action of replacing my now damaged tool box; He assured me " we're going to make it right ". I contacted my Snap on tools dealer, Jeff Hamilton 804-815-5145 and told him my box had been damaged and I needed him to find a used box to replace it with, at the time I was not aware that the bottom box was also damaged. I told both Ryan and Jeff it didn't have to be a new box or even the same color, it didn't matter where it had to come from or if it was going to take a month to get. That was about as flexible as I could be, as I would later find out the bottom box was also damaged. As soon as I realized the bottom box was damaged, I called Jeff to let him know that both boxes needed to be replaced. Later that week Jason Miller another Snap on tool dealer 804-824-1899 came to the shop to break in to the bottom box so I could get to my tools, he also took pictures of the damage that he sent to Jeff. After I didn't hear anything for a week I Modr's service center to speak with Ryan, he wasn't there at the time; I left the Snap on tools dealer Jeff Hamilton phone number 804-815-5145 and told the mechanic to have Ryan contact Jeff. On 4/9/2015 Randy Modr contacted Jeff Hamilton and had Jeff email the pictures. On 5/26/2015 Jeff Hamilton was contacted again and sent a invoice for the cost of replacement. On 6/26/2015 I again went to Modr's service center to speak with Ryan, I spoke with both Ryan and Randy Modr. Again Ryan told me they were going to take care of it, yet to date the tool boxes have not been replaced. Furthermore, my tool dealer Jeff Hamilton can confirm that my tool box was damage free prior to 3/31/2015 and the only debt owed was for the left locker. The estimated cost of the damaged boxes is $27,000, Jeff contacted the area Snap on rep and they were going to sell the boxes for cost so as to get Modr's service center out as cheap as possible and get me back what I lost. So everyone had been doing everything they can except Modr's. It is my intention with this letter to bring to your attention the business practices of Modr's service center. I'm not in the habit of bashing anyone, I would much rather have good things to say about everyone I do business with. Unfortunately this company did not live up to a glowing review. So I feel it is in the best interest of the public that you should not do business with Modr's service center. Please feel free to contact anyone involved as the names and phone numbers are provided.
