Pre-registration called and made an appointment so that on the day of surgery, there was no admin.waiting time.
They also held classes for joint replacement patients, a few weeks prior to surgery. These prepared me for what to expect before, during and after surger
After waiting about 30 minutes over my appt. time, they took me to pre-op. I was prepped for the surgery. The Nurses, the surgeon and the anthesiologist all visited me prior to the surgery. They asked a number of pertinent questions. After about another 30 minute wait I was wheeled into surgery and went to sleep.
Some time later I awoke in the hospital room. I had a private room, as that is the only type rooms this hospital has, at present. They had me to stand up briefly. The Physical Therapy nurse visited and said PT would start the next day. I was on a self-administering morphine button, so pain was kept at a reasonable level.
Over the next 3 days I had visits twice daily by the surgeon. I was taken to PT twice a day and started learning PT that would allow me to be able to walk on the new knee as soon as possible. I was discharged after 3 days. to home health care. The hospital food was better than average, for hospital food. Most nurses were extremely helpful, especially the night nurses.

This review applies only to the Physical Therapy wing of Blue Ridge Orthopedics, not the surgical wing.
Staff very friendly, front desk folks are very nice and attentive. The facility is top notch, including the building space and the equipment. There are several highly trained and skilled Physical Therapists on site, as well as several assistants. The Therapists that did all my therapy is named Ryan. He is not only extremely knowledgeable, but his bedside manner is impeccable. He listens to everything the patient has to say, and only responds and begins treatment, after he fully understands the issues and goals. He does not believe in and quot;No Pain - No Gain'. He is very gentle but still gets the job done. Any time I felt like he pushed too hard, I'd let him know and he would react accordingly. The same with his recommended home therapy. If I felt like anything was not working, he would make adjustments.
I highly recommend this facility.

I was triaged and seen fairly quickly. The doctor took a chest x-ray and gave me a nebulizing treatment to assist in opening up my lungs to make breathing easier. I was given a prescription for a steroid to help clear up bronchitis and sent home. The staff were helpful and efficient.
