Went great. No problems. We selected Redi Carpet from Angie's List also due to our positive experience with Mr. Young when it was Young's Flooring. Our initial meeting with Jordan was excellent and she proved very helpful in selecting carpet color and a grade that was best for us. She was patient and answered our questions promptly providing a list of things to do to prepare for installation. Everybody in the office was friendly and helpful if Jordan wasn't available. The carpet arrived about 10-12 days earlier than expected. We set up a date and the installation crew (Corey, Dominique, Justin, and Ronald) showed up on time. They were outstanding and professional in their work. The installation took longer than expected but the results were worth it. They were very careful in moving and replacing furniture and ensuring we were satisfied with the results before leaving. Good cleanup also - no trash or debris left. The overall experience was great and we have no reservations in recommending Redi Carpet to our friends.

It was their subcontractor who did our tile work that sucked, and unfortunately I can't remember his name. His team was slow, did sloppy work, and delayed ongoing work in other areas of the house that were under renovation. Their excuses kept piling up and ultimately put our entire renovation project behind schedule.
If I find/remember the name I'll provide it.
I also can't remember the price because it was rolled into the overall renovation costs.
Unfortunately, Young's takes the hit since they were primary. I would use them again for carpet and flooring, but hopefully by now they're using a different tile guy.

I did carpet and the name of the company is Young's Flooring. I felt like second class citizen. They didn't really treat me like a customer or the way I think a customer should be treated. It was basically like those are the choices of what carpets you get and what he is going to get. It is like this is the obvious choice and they didn't discuss it very well. The price was really good and that is why we ended up going there. The workers or the people that I dealt with were nice and efficient. The only person that wasn't was the boss. The person that actually did the floors did a great job and they were very friendly. They were very prompt and they showed up on time.

The sales representative, Simon, was very helpful in choosing the correct type of nylon carpet that would withstand heavy beach/grandchildren traffic and also last a long time. The store also let me take home  a whole board of carpet samples to get a more precise match. The carpet was ordered and arrived the same week, but installation had to wait for my painter to finish.

The carpet was installed on the day that I asked for. The installers arrived on time, were very pleasant, kept the mess to a minimum and finished the job the same day. They cleared away all the old carpet and cleaned up the work area and vacuumed.

Very pleased to have new carpet all in one day. It looks great. Wish I had done it sooner! I will definitely recommend Young's Carpet to others. Simon Driscoll made the whole experience very easy.

It took over 7 months to "complete" the work. Workers repeatedly did not show up for work or worked 2 hour days. The tile work was inferior. Three different grout colors were used on the same tile. Tiles were improperly cut, so that shower fixtures could not be installed. There were portions of the tile work that was not grouted or caulked leaving holes for water to leak. Over all the tilers and the management were unprofessional and unresponsive. There was no over site or quality control by the company and multiple subcontractors were used. Do not use this company.

I called Young Flooring (which is now RediCarpet) to remove our laminate flooring in the kitchen and foyer, fix whatever tiles were broken underneath and to tile an "island" in my kitchen.  Ashlee called me back and came that night to my home to look over what I wanted done and take some rough measurements.  We arranged to meet at the tile store in a day or two.  By the time I arrived at the store, Ashlee had picked some tile that she thought I might like.  I appreciated that.  She and I went back and forth with various tiles until we found one that I liked.  We had a small glitch in that the tile store told us the tile I choose was in stock and it was not.  Ashlee searched and came up with the same tile from a different supplier at a lower price.  Again, I appreciated that.  We scheduled the floor to be done while waiting for the island tile to come in.  Of course, in any home project, there are surprises.  I thought that there would be just a few tiles that needed to be replaced once the laminate flooring was removed.  Ashlee called to tell me that there were over 50 and she was on her way to my house to take a look at the project.  Again, I was at work and I appreciated that she immediately went to the house to look for herself and to call me back.  She took pictures and sent them to me to show me the floor.  At that point, the only choice we had was to replace the entire floor.  Since I wanted, at least, the floor done before Thanksgiving, Ashley again went out and picked some tiles that were similar to what we already had, brought them to my house so that I could look at them when I got home.  I had a choice of over 10 or 11 and found one that I really liked.  The tile installer came out in a day or two and it took almost 3 days to get the job done (it is a fairly large area).  The floor was done before Thanksgiving.  (By the way, Ashlee called me from St. Louis on her vacation to check on the progress of the job).  The Monday after the Thanksgiving weekend, the island tile came and in and it was installed the next day without a hitch.  By the way, the installers who work with RediCarpet were fast, dedicated and really knew what they were doing.  One day during the installation of our floor, they arrived at my house before 8:00 in the morning and stayed until 8:00 that night so that we would have our new floor before Thanksgiving!
Young Flooring (RediCarpet) was an extremely easy company with which to work.  Ashlee was professional, on top of the project at all times and fun to work with.
The bad reviews were in the past and from, what I understand, a prior company.  No one should have any reservations about using RediCarpet for any flooring needs.

Young's flooring was responsive and came to my house with samples for me to choose from. On installation day, they showed up on time, cleaned up afterwards and did a quality installation. The carpet is for a rental and we went with a mid-grade option - price seemed reasonable.

The installation was done very well and looks great. Getting us to that point, however, was beyond painful. The salesman at Young's by the name of Simon was all over the place when it came to getting our work scheduled. It took phone call after phone call to finally get an estimate e-mailed to me. After that was finally accomplished, he and I agreed to have the work done starting on a Saturday between 9 and 10 AM. I ended up waiting until noon when the installer finally showed up and said he had had another job scheduled for that morning, so there was never any way he could have made it by 9 AM, which he claimed he had told Simon. Not sure how accurate that was, but it sounded like there was an opportunity to at least tell me that they wouldn't be there b/t 9 and 10, and no one let me know. I had called Young's that morning at 10 AM to confirm the time and for some reason the folks there couldn't tell me when they would be arriving.
The other big thing that I really didn't like was they asked for full payment prior to the work being done. I've dealt with a good number of contractors before, and I certainly don't ever pay people for work they haven't done yet. Materials is one thing, I can understand that, but paying for labor prior to it being done? Simon explained that that's just the way it is in the flooring business, so maybe I was just ignorant to how it is, but I was surprised by it.
I will say though, the installer was really great and did great work, my wife and I are super happy with it. I honestly feel like if Simon was taken out of the equation, it would have been a way better experience!

1.  Responded immediately to request for estimate.
2.  Helpful in recommending resale vs. rental carpeting.
3.  Carpeting recommended (for resale) is cut above typical "relocation beige".
4.  Was able to meet my required schedule for installation. (They were able to slot with other contractor activity.)
5.  Installation went well & on-schedule.
6.  Very satisfied with end product.

It was a bad experience.
Response from Young's Flooring/Redi Carpet
"Hello Mrs. B, My name is Kevin Marlar, I am the General Manager at Young's Flooring. Let me first apologize for the bad experience that you had with the prior company. Second, let me assure you that the company that you did business with in 2004 no longer exists; even if the name seems the same. In 2006 (over 2 years after your work was performed) Young's Flooring Co., Inc was purchased by Redi Carpet and the principles and management were 100% were replaced with the Redi Carpet team. That being said, we would like to opportunity to make things right with your installation even though 9 years have past since the installation took place. I am never comfortable knowing that there is a customer out there that is not satisfied with thier experience with our company if there is a chance that I can make it right. As you can see from our other comments and reviews that we are totally committed to providing only the highest level of professionalism and service. You are free to contact me at any time at 757-277-6002 (my cell phone #), I have tried to reach you at the number that we had on the origanal invoice, but I am not sure if that is still your current number. Please let me know if I can come by and see what if anything we can do to improve your experience and opinion of us. Best Regards, Kevin Marlar"

They were great. I have nothing else to say. They did everything they were supposed to do. I had no problem with contacting them I went to their store. I bought everything from them. I knew what I wanted and they got it for me. They took care of everything, no problem. I knew what I wanted and negotiated what I wanted and got what I wanted.

They came out on the 4th of July which was nice.  They were very prompt.  The guy said it would take them 2 to 3 hours and they were done in 2.  The workers were all very professional.

It was fine in the addition, but we’ve had two issues with the other carpet they laid. It wasn’t stapled well at doorways so they are coming back tomorrow to re-staple that. The type of carpet that we got has really obvious seams because we needed carpet that we could have a wheelchair or walker on. That isn’t their fault, that is part of the carpet. We had two different teams lay the carpet but this will be the second time that we’ll have to call them back to re-staple carpet. The guy that we dealt with was very helpful.
