DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR AIR DUCT CLEANING! I used their pest control service since 2003. I have no complaints about this service. Two years ago, I paid them over $900 to clean air ducts because of the gray dust and musty smell coming from them. When the person came to do the cleaning, all he had with him was a small handheld apparatus that was similar to an air compressor. I was accustomed to having more elaborate machinery for this process. The supervisor who accompanied the service person told me their system was different. Now, two years later, I still have gray dust coming out of the vents and a musty smell in the house. I have called, sent emails, and left messages asking for a call. No on ever called me unless it was to schedule pest control. I finally canceled the service and stopped the automatic payments. I still received calls and demands for payment. I told the person I had canceled service and requested a call from a manager or owner multiple times. No one returned my calls.

Very poor, I had 3 "clear" inspection reports in 5 months, then the day I am supposed to close, they find $2,000 of damages, after I recently paid them over $1,000 to clean up the crawl space, and put down a whole floor vapor barrier. They never found damage at that time either. Don't use them The owner George won't even call me back regarding this matter.

I had contacted them because my neighbor was using them and happy. My rat problem was back in both my attic and crawlspace that I had paid another company over the past year for treatment. Universal offered a disinfectant service. So far, so good. It seems it has worked for now.

They wanted me to pay for pest control at that time and I said can we get the stuff right that I already paid for last year first. I talked to Gary (Manager at the time) and he gave me a refund for the yearly renewal of 125.00 since I hadn't had a working dehumidifier. Also told me to call back to have someone come out and check it in a couple months.(Not that I should be doing the calling, but I did) When Gary came out to check it, he said they had moved it to one end and it wasn't reaching the back side of the house which only has a middle section connecting the two sides. He had Michael come out and move it on September 10, 2015. In December I called Gary again to get him to come out and check the dehumidifier. On December 19, 2015 he said the guy only moved it a foot and it wasn't running (18-19% moisture, should be 13-14 %) and there were many access points not closed and the rats were back, he would send someone out to disinfect, fixed insulation, close holes and use foam instead of caulk. On December 22, 2016 Aaron came out to move the dehumidifier again, seal vents again and rehung insulation. He said he was not authorized to disinfect. Since it was the holidays and I do tax preparation until April 15th, I did not get a chance to call again until May 27, 2016 and asked to speak to someone that could help me. This time I had Josh (General Manager) come out to talk to me. He said he would send some one out to check on my concerns. On June 1, 2016, Benji did the inspection, the work order states to run a new hose to the outside because the way it was it would dump water back under the house, reposition dehumidifier because it still did not get moved, 100% poly. because they NEVER covered it all the way to the edges, only placed in the middle, leaving at least 2 feet all the way around and exclusion (because there were still holes). On June 6, 2016, Josh and Paul came out to seal vents, exclusion and added poly. which they installed over the 2 year old ploy now, covered in rat pee and feces that they said had to be taken out before in 2014. After this, I got 2 other pest control companies to come out and inspect it, since I don't know what I'm looking at and have to rely on professionals. They both said there were still holes, the poly was added and put over rat pee and feces and that the smell was awful and the poly needed to be replaced. And the dehumidifier is still not working and moisture still at 18-19%. Unfortunately, the product has not worked since they put it in August 2014 and the service has been inadequate, since every time someone came out from their own company, they would tell me the last guy did it incorrectly. To resolve the issue, I would appreciate a refund of $2,601.00 so I can have this done properly. The owner called me after I asked for a refund and offered a new dehumidifier or $750.00. I do not trust this company after a year of trying to work with them and get it fixed. I don't want to deal with them any longer. I feel like I gave them adequate time, a whole year, to resolve this mess. I just want a full refund, since the moisture is exactly the same as when they sold me all this to fix it and the poly is still messed up. The owner still refuses to return my money. And this is not even adding in the way I was talked to the last couple of months, including the last managerĀ that cameĀ out in May, because I have written proof of the rest and they can say hearsay on the conversations even though I did document what was said to me.

I have been using the company for 6-7 years. The staff is prompt and provide a great quality service. In the summer we have ant issues and they are quick to come out to spray for that as needed. I feel like we get what we pay for. Their pricing is competitive. They are always very friendly and I like the products they use. The products are safe for pets and kids.

We are not very happy with them at the moment. Our service guy unfortunately decides to come whenever he pleases. We set a particular time but he calls me and asks to come earlier every single time. Or he calls my fiance and asks to come earlier in the day. There has been two separate times where he decided to just show up when we are not home. So he has missed spraying the inside of the house twice and just does the outside.  Their products are good and environmentally friendly but customer service comes first. I think that customer service is the number one factor regardless of what you are selling. I think we are going to switch service providers.

I asked if this deal included  all the inside. He said only down stairs. He only treated main rooms downstairs. We have walk-in storage upstairs . He did not treat that. I was just not pleased. The represenrative did not exhibit much professionalism. He did not fully explain what was and what was not covered. I was not pleased.

I'm not happy with them. We signed a contract with them for a year. To me, that means it ends at a year. They insisted that we had to give them 90 days or we had to keep paying for them to come out here. I don't think that's very good. I think once the contract is over, the contract is over. To be honest, I didn't read the contract. I asked them to send me a copy of it and they never did. About 6 weeks ago, I sent them a payment for the last time they came out here. I figured I better just pay it even though I didn't want to because I didn't think it was fair. They came out when I wasn't home. I paid them and said, "Do not come back out to my house again." This week, they called and wanted to come back out again. They left a message on my machine. The original contract was for $350 or something like that. Then I wounded up paying another $90 for two trips out here after the contract ended. They fulfilled the first year but they never could get rid of the black bugs in the house. So I just decided I wasn't going to keep paying them if I couldn't get rid of them. I just don't think their procedures at the end of the contract are fair.

When I purchased my home they performed a termite and moisture inspection and they said everything was fine in the crawlspace but recommended that I replace the moisture barrier (plastic that goes on the ground of the crawl space) since it appeared that there were some old mice droppings on the current moisture barrier, they said that there weren't currently any mice in the crawlspace.  So, after I bought the house I had them replace the moisture barrier and also do a ?pest exclusion? which is basically just them calking any holes that they found in the crawlspace that lead to the outside so that I wouldn?t have any mice return.  Well they did a terrible job, the new moisture barrier was supposed to cover the entire ground of the crawlspace but they missed entire areas and come to find out I did still have mice in the crawlspace even after they did the ?pest exclusion?.  The worst thing was when I went to inspect the job that they did, that I found out that I had mold, and I mean a lot of mold in the crawlspace that they never told me about during the moisture inspection before I bought my house.  When I called to complain, I was told that they were not qualified to do any mold testing, but an honest company would have at least recommended that I have a mold inspection done or at least mentioned it to me.  If I knew about the mold before I probably wouldn?t have bought the house, and to remove the mold cost me thousands of dollars!  When I called to have a refund issued because of the poor job that was done on the moisture barrier and pest exclusion I was only offered a $300 refund which wasn?t even half of what I paid (I paid $645).  I refused to have them ?fix? the moisture barrier because at this point I didn?t trust this company at all anymore and had already scheduled another company to do the work instead.  I would not recommend doing business with them at all.  They are dishonest and not even willing to issue full refunds when they know that they did a poor job.

"Like most every pest control company, Universal does not perform any health related services such as mold inspections for a real estate transaction. Mold is never included as part of a termite inspection for a real estate closing. The customer has indicated the poly ground cover was not covered at 100%. The customer would not allow us out to inspect but wanted all of his money returned because the poly only covered 90% of the ground. He stated he wanted his money back because he already hired someone else to install the other 10%. We agreed to return a portion of his charge without ever going to the house to inspect (verify) his complaint. I believe we did more that what would normally be expected.
