Templates were not used to measure. I now understand that using a tape measure is not a good thing for a company to do. Sink hold was cut wrong and the company tried to use a replacement piece that did not match. I insisted they do a better job matching that section and the owners, Matt and Mark tried to get me to pay for the new slab. My Contractor and cabinet installers said the job was not done well and that I should refuse to pay them any extra money for a mistake they made. Ultimately I did not pay for the extra slab so that my kitchen would match. They paid for it but they never corrected the uneven overhangs. The kitchen designer suggested a 1 " overhand since I had inset cabinetry. 1 1/4" is a standard when you do not have inset doors on your cabinetry. My final result is varying overhangs from 1" to 1 3/4" throughout the kitchen. I used Custom Stone for the my vanities and they look really nice. Custom Stone created a template and did not measure with a tape measure.

I have been doing a complete remodel of my kitchen:  new cabs, new hardwood floording, new kitchen island and appliances, plus granite countertops.  Prior to hooking up with Tidewater Granite Masters, I had visited Rock Solid Granite and Home Depot.  I wasn't completely satisfied with either the selection, price, or lack of support from the sales staff at either place.  I also had attempted to contact another highly rated Angie's List company who, unfortunately, was closed down for the entirety of the July 4 holiday week.
I was searching the internet and came across the name Tidewater Granite Masters.  Customer comments raved about a man named "Chris."  I checked out the Angie's List report, was satisfied, and contacted the company directly to speak to Chris.  After Chris gave me suggestions for granite companies and I selected several slabs of interest, he priced them all out and paid a visit to my home to see the job.  Chris is a ball of fire!  A great guy to work with and very knowledgeable with something like 16 years of experience under his belt.  A few days later, I finalized my selection to the pattern "Dune" from a company in Virginia Beach.  Chris did all of the negotiating.  unfortunately, as noted above, the slabs received from the wholesaler were cracked.   The installation went well; unfortunately--and this is the only reason I assigned a "B,"while the team did a beautiful job on the island section of the countertop job, the granite seams do not match across the sink sections.  When Chris called to follow up, I was on my way out of town, so he never viewed the final product.  I called Chris after I returned from vacation, but one of the owners called and left a message on my answering machine indicating confusion over why I had called.  By that time, I decided to let the situation go.  Had the follow up inspection been made--even if the situatiion could not have been corrected, I would have assigned all "A's."
Still, my overall experience was a good one.  Price and personal attention to detail were above average, and I would definately use this company again.

it was a great experience.  I had a picture of an island I wanted to emulate.  we had no demensions.  the installers acme and together we designed a perfect island.  it was complex with many angles.  all the counter tops were done on time with no problems.  I found everyone to be professional and they really took a lot of time to make sure my instructions were carried out.  I would recommend them and would use them again

It went great. You must ask for CHRIS, The Granite Guy. He was what made the entire experience a breeze (one of the only things about the remodel) He advised me step by step of the process and gave me a good understanding of the different options I had to choose. From type of stone, the alternatives, the pricing, the colors, the durability of the stone, the care of the various products, the backsplash height options...and more. He was more helpful than you could ever imagine. He pretty much held my hand through the hole process and then checked up on me afterwards to make sure I was happy with the work performed. He ever brought me granite cleaner as a gift when he can to check up on the completion. Super nice guy, be sure to ask for him when you call them!

We renovated our bathroom and wanted granite countertops so we called Tidewater Granite for an estimate. Chris, their sales rep. contacted us and scheduled an appointment to come see the porject details and give us an estimate the next day! He was on time and had extremely helpful in telling us the many alternative options as far as both materials and price goes. We were new to the renovation world and didn't have a ton of knowledge regarding countertop choices. He walked us through each step of the process from estimate to templating to install. He also showed us the ways to best maintain the countertop once it was installed.

Chris was absolutely wonderful to work with. The made my counter tops as well as matching window sills. The installers showed up and installed my counter tops on time. I get so many compliments on them. They made the window sills and we installed them (part of our deal) and they are perfect. It put a wonderful finishing touch on my kitchen. I am going to use them again. With all the problems I had with remodeling my kitchen these guys were the ONLY ones that did what they said they would do when they said they would do it.

When Tidewater Granite installed the counter top, the dishwasher was in place and was hooked up to the water. I had to have them come back to "clip" the dishwasher to the underside of the counter top. When they arrived, they used epoxy rather than the clips. Now 18 months later the epoxy has dissolved and the dishwasher is falling out from under the counter top. When I called and talked to the office manager, they didn't know the difference between having the dishwasher in place and installed. That seemed to be a sticking point with them. At first she said they were not responsible. This didn't make sense because they had come out initially and used the epoxy, so I think if they were not responsible they would have said something at that time. After several calls with the office manager, I was told she would get back to me. I haven't heard from them since. At any rate, the problem is going to be solved by another company, my kitchen renovators.
