The Floor Trader of Virginia Beach

Floor Trader ordered tile and implied that they worked with several installers. They recommended one whom they said could fix some of my existing floor which had been damaged by water from a broken  pipe. I had to pay full amount for tile because it was a special order, but they called me about a  week later saying that tile wouldn't be available for about a month because of production issues. The installer came out and said he could fix existing floor and install tile. The  only times I saw  that man again was when he came by, anxious to get his payments.  He  didn't tell me that he would  send a subcontractor. The first scheduled day no one showed up for 5 hours. The subcontractor said he couldn't  fix existing floor, so more tile had to be ordered. The subcontractor turned out to be a hardwood installer and only did smaller tile jobs. He was very careful but slow. The floor looks good, but the whole job took more than twice as long as promised owner of the installation company seemed very questionable.

ROGER MET WITH US AT HOME FIRST PART OF MAY AND WE PICKED THE FLOORING THAT WE LIKED TO HAVE INSTALLED, STEVE ARRIVED ON MAY 26TH THAT MORNING, HE WAS A LITTLE LATE, BUT HE GOT RIGHT TO WORK AND FINISHED ONE ROOM AND STARTED ON THE FOYER, HE LEFT AND TWO WORKERS ARRIVED THE NEXT MORNING TO FINISH PUTTING DOWN THE FLOORS, THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB AND FINISHED ABOUT 2:30P, THEY WERE VERY NICE AND MOVED THE FURNITURE THAT WE COULD NOT MOVE,  THE WORKERS WERE A LITTLE HARD TO UNDERSTAND, BUT DID WHATEVER I WANTED DONE, THE FLOORS LOOK WONDERFUL, STEVE CAME BACK A LITTLE LATER TO PLANE DOWN A CLOSET DOOR IN OUR FOYER, HE WAS VERY HELFUL WITH ANY QUESTIONS THAT I HAD CONCERNING THE FLOORS

We were entirely pleased with their service from start to finish and we had shopped many other providers before deciding on Floor Traders.  During the initial purchase we were very undecided, and made several visits to the showroom,as we had with others,  while changing our minds a lot.  Bill S, our sales rep was very accommodating in our inablity to make a decision. We felt that he worked hard to find what we were looking for, making many suggestion and not pushing us in any direction,  while being responsive to our budgetary needs. It was comfortable and unhurried, given our indecision. 
  We also had installation issues ON OUR END. We had to change the date a couple of times due to delays in other aspects of our remodeling. Again, very accomodating. 
The installation, itself, was also excellent. The installers arrived on time and were PROMPTLY at work. No chatter and or uuhming and aahing.  We left the house and returned to a complete, CLEAN installation. Every edge, every corner neat and perfectly fit. They were done when they said they would be. They were courteous, efficient and were gone as quickly as they came.

I went to them based upon an interaction that I had with a representative from their location in Gautier, MS. The location in Virginia Beach was very professional and helpful. The representative that I dealt with is named Bill Swearingen and he was great.

Floor trader was wonderful to work with. The salesman Bill was so helpful as to what I should look for in a carpet. He was knowledgeable and didn't try to sell me on the most expensive things they carried. We had a couple of hiccups with the installation but I am confident that it will be resolved in no time.

They were able to install the carpet in a very timely manner. With summer vacation and guests coming there was not a lot of time available, but they worked with the schedule very well. The carpet was installed so well on the stairs that I had to repaint the trim .

It was a good price compared to other people. They had a good selection and the salesman was good. They had the better price. We actually weren't able to do it on the day of install and their subcontractor was helpful in coming back to do it without an extra charge.

The people at the store were very friendly, not trying to upsell. They had a great sale and also upgraded the padding on Small Business Saturday. They let me take samples home and didn't call constantly to get me to come back.

Overall, they were a good company, and we received good quality carpet from them. They didn't do too bad installing our carpet. I wouldn't rate them extremely high. I didn't like that we didn't know which contractors we would get because sometimes they don't send the best contractors. They should have their own installers in my opinion.

Overall, I like the floor, but, there was a problem. I had to call them back two times because the padding was shrinking. They did come right away and fixed it for no extra charge. However, even after the second time, it has shrunk again. I did not bother to call them back this time though. I do not know if I should blame the manufacturer or the installation people. The pricing was rather cheap. I paid for the carpet and the installation all in one price. I probably would not hire them again because of the shrinking. I do not want to take any more chances with them.
