Gary knows what he is doing. We started talking 6 months before the sod was installed. He helped with the selection of grass type and irrigation plan after hearing my need for low maintenance. He was flexible allowing me to reduce cost by killing the old lawn myself. To reduce cost further, I did the rough grading myself after the concrete guys moved the driveway to a new configuration. He encouraged me to call in the future when I have questions about how to care for the new lawn. He was also gentle with the price.

We called Gary for a quote to install sod in our backyard.  We agreed on the date and time and he came out a couple of days later on a rainy day.  He was on time and professional.  He gave us a quote to spray and kill our existing grass and weeds and install fescue sod.  His quote was half the installation quote we received from another company so it was easy to select him for the job.  As discussed, he came out the next week and sprayed our backyard to kill the existing weeds.  He then came out a couple of weeks later to install the sod.  It has been more than a month since he installed the sod and it looks great!  I highly recommend others to consider STRAWBRIDGE LAWNS & LANDSCAPE for their landscaping needs!

I bought a house that had bamboo and 6 foot high weeds in the backyard. I tried removing but the previouse owner had put down rocks as well. Eventually I started contacting outside help. Gary came in with a mini excavator and took out all the rocks and weeds. He then put down sod, mulch and plants. On time and he kept me involved in every aspect. He kept it right at the original estimate.
The amount of work he did was alot. He worked on the backyard for a whole week! Considering the amount of work he did the price was a great deal! He was very professional. I highly recommend him to anyone needing landscaping work done.

Gary was responsive and professional from the beginning. I was always able to reach him via phone or email and always received a prompt response. I received the estimate very quickly after he stopped by and looked at my yard, and my husband and I both thought it was very reasonable so we moved forward with hiring them for the job. He and his crew are just finishing up today and it looks absolutely incredible. THey have been punctual, quick and efficient for this job and we could not be happier! I would absolutely recommend Gary and his team to anyone!!!

They did a good job. They only problem was that he wasn't very responsive to questions.

The completed the work a couple of days early. They were quick, cleaned up after they were done and did a professional job. The had some pavers remaining from a previous job, so they gave me a break on the cost of materials. Next year I am going to have a retaining wall installed and intend on using them for that job as well.

We saw the company on Angies list and decided to hire them based on the A rating. We had several issues to resolve including 1. Putting in underground drainage tubing and grading a lawn to prevent what we thought was pooling of rain water based on the lack of an incline from the house to the street. 2. Installing landscaping paver stones with underlying drainage to create a mudless area to the side of the house for our dogs; 3. Installing a sod lawn to the side of the pavers and over the drainage tubing installed. 4. Aerating and reseeding back and front lawns They did great at the hardscape- the Landscape pavers were and continue to be a fantastic addition to the lawn area and have held form and function well. However, despite several requests from me to the owner to come and see what the drainage problem during rainfall was resulting from before initiating the drainage solution, he never did. Instead, just assumed that it was the incline, and placed the drainage tubing accordingly. If he had bothered to check out the problem he would have seen from the beginning that there was the necessity of placing open holed drainage at a site where water was flowing off the roof of a sunroom to permit for much greater absorption of water at that site. On top of that, the regrading- was with topsoil but for some reason, he pulled clay over the topsoil with the grading rake, so of course the reseeding did not work well. As the last straw, there was no soil preparation done prior to the laying down of the sod- so of course, despite proper watering and keeping our dogs off for 2 weeks, the sod all died also. When I saw that the drainage solution he had instituted was not working, with the graded soil being washed away over the drainage tubing, I requested he come back to fix it. At this point he diagnosed the excess flow of water off the sunroof. His solution now was to lay down a layer of topsoil and a couple of lengths of sod over the washed away area and advise me to have the sunroom roof gutters cleaned out. I have done as he advised, but the excess flow of water continues, and we continue to have a muddy back lawn. If he had come out prior to the installation of the drainage tubing to correctly diagnose the water flow problem, I would be far less perturbed. I think the method of throwing a fix at a problem without correctly diagnosing it is unprofessional, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the company laying down sod without any soil prep. Even an amateur knows better than that. I have not payed the company for the additional 'fix' of the extra topsoil and sod that they came out to do on request because the problem still exists and has not been fixed. I have not been in touch with the company either as i am just too frustrated to contact them again to solve a problem which should have been diagnosed from the beginning. Very frustrated with lack of quality performance in certain areas.

Excellent! Gary actually came down off his quote because the materials weren't as much as he had estimated. Great communications from the start. I knew when he was going to be here and when he would be done. The whole job took three days from start to finish, excluding a few days of rain delay. I had quotes near or equal to Gary's for just the slab removal.

It went very well. Gary was prompt in calling me back, getting me several different estimated, and getting the project scheduled. He and his crew were very professional from start to finish. Gary told me what I needed to do to take care of the sod, and made it clear that if there were still drainage problems or if any of the sod wasn't taking, to let him know and he'll take care of it. But there has been no drainage problem (even with heavy rain) and the sod is looking great.

Everything this company did for us looks great. I was very happy with how the project turned out. The crew for this company was very friendly and their price was great. The price was about $2000 less than what the other companies estimated.
