SouthSide Granite

Richard was recommended to us through a local site. When I talked to Richard on the phone, he asked us to meet him, look at the granite available, and to discuss the install. My wife and I have built a half dozen homes in the past and always use granite. We've had a number of companies install the granite, but never have we had someone who did the work Richard did in our kitchen. Absolutely amazing. The seam was seamless,the tightest I've ever seen. I cannot describe adequately the quality of work. Richard worked within our price range. He came when he said he would be here, the granite was cut perfectly, the amount of time to install was exactly what he told us, and the professionalism continues to be incredible. Not only would I use Richard again, I recommend him to everyone. My wife and I love the granite, and even my brother-in-law (who is a perfectionist) could not believe the work. He plans to use Richard on his kitchen remodel. I value and appreciate someone who is a craftsman at what they do, and Richard is a craftsman. He knows granite. After two weeks of additional delays, Richard called me and said he had assembled a crew to move the counter tops in but needed to do it that day. I agreed and instructed him the route to use to move the counter tops in. Instead of using the direct route up the stairs, he cut the railing off off the side of my house and brought them up that way. We called him and asked him to fix it or pay for it and he said he would not. In addition the opening for the Stove was supposed to be for a 30 inch stove (I even gave him the information for the appliances we ordered). The opening he left is only 29.75 inches so now we have to get a real professional to modify the opening. The final blunder was when he installed the sink. He used a home made / non industry standard mount (2 x 4's) and made it so the only way to replace the sink is to completely remove the counter tops. Unfortunately the sink we installed was defective and needs to be replaced. He was extremely unprofessional, his quality of work was terrible and he will give you excuse after excuse. Do not waste your money! Hire a quality installer. In the long run it will cost me more money to fix his mistakes / damage then the cost of the counter tops.

Richard supplied our kitchen counters for our new kitchen remodel and will provide our bathroom counters. He was great to work with! Just on customer service alone I would recommend him. We had a small problem and he bent over backwards to help us. He was very helpful, communicative and professional. We are starting on remodeling our master bathroom and updating the vanity in one of our other bathrooms. It was an easy decision to go with SouthSide Granite again.

Richard did an excellent job on my bathroom countertops. I contacted him via another contractor, and he responded with personal service. From the one-on-one assistance with selecting the countertop, to the installation, he is a consummate professional. Not only did he quote what I know to be an excellent price, but he also answered phone calls timely, and made appointments quickly and honored the time. (This can't be said for every contractor I've encountered throughout many projects). But most telling of Richard's service quality is when another contractor suggested that Richard's countertop work was not accurately completed, Richard responded quickly to correct the perceived problem. However, the problem was NOT with Richard's work, but another contractor's error. Although Richard HAD BEEN FULLY PAID, he still responded and tried to correct another contractor's error. I appreciate 'time is money', and Richard did not hesitate to offer his time, when he did not have to. My countertops are lovely. No errors and measured 100% - (don't take this for granted because it can easily go wrong). I highly recommend Southside Granite. This is Richard's business, and as the sole proprietor, he is determined and destined to be extremely successful.
