Wonderful So Great Installers JOHNNY AND AARON AND CREW ARE ON POINT!!! I am a very particular person and I was so happy when they finished. I jumped up and was so happy a tear came into my eye. Currently in the process of re-doing my back fence. Originally scheduled to be done week prior to me writing this review on Wednesday, May 29th. I received a call telling me that they would have to move to Thursday the 30th. I was cool as it was an open line of communication. Taking the day off on Thursday, I waited 2 hours during the appropriate time of 8-10. At 1030, I tried to call the company but to my dismay all their phones were going to voicemail. I had to call Home Depot who I originally contacted to get my fence redone. It took Home Depot another 15 minutes to get in contact with them though their Pro Sales number. Once in contact, I was then told that I was moved to Friday the 31st but no one had called to tell me the date was changed. I after pulling teeth, I learned that my team was being sent to another project. Now annoyed and perturbed about my fence getting done I scheduled for Monday June 3rd. Monday is here and from the agreed upon time of 8-10 for arrival time, no one is here at 1015. Again I have to initiate contact to get an answer to what is happening. They give an excuse as the crew is coming from Virginia Beach they should be there shortly. Now I don’t know what that is supposed to mean because everyone who has lived here for at least a year knows to plan accordingly when traversing Hampton Roads interstate. 1110 they crew shows and tells me that the original team was sent to another project after I was adamantly told I was priority for Monday. This has been a lack luster performance on the company’s behalf and I wonder how they have maintained an above average rating. Potential the workers do such a terrific job that they save the company from self destruction. I will update once the work is complete but already Solid Structures is a no for any other work I might need done.

We enjoyed the whole process. Great information and assistance with selecting a fence. The installers were excellent- friendly, efficient, & they did great work! One of the fence gates needed to be aligned after installation was complete. They were out within the week to provide alignment. We love our fence.

Our fence is over 420 linear feet and we chose Solid Structures to use the very best material to rebuild it. Their crew, headed by Josh, were great to deal with, in spite of the heavy rains we've been having in Virginia Beach, VA. We are extremely pleased with both the crew and the material used. We highly recommend Solid Structures.

Solid Structures is the only company I would hire in Hampton Roads to perform construction type work in my outdoor area. They were professional, timely, honest and easy to work with...and their work was beautiful. I would recommend them to anyone for a fence, pavers, or any other outdoor construction work.

Scott and his team at Solid Structures are extremely professional and do great work. They recently completed a minor repair for me, swapping out a corroded fire pit starter switch and ignition wire. Prior to this he completed a fairly large project for me, building me a brand new deck with screened in gazebo and a concrete patio along with a custom gas fire pit. During that job, Scott worked with me to come up with a great design. His team cleaned up after themselves every day and never left my yard messy during construction. The finished product turned out great, and I would definitely recommend Solid Structures to anyone looking for honest and quality work.

Fantastic, from Bob. the sales manager to Travis and his crew, who worked in some very cold weather. The job was done in 3 days and looks great, they cleaned up all their debris and even did a little extra groundscaping work along the bottoms of the fencing to make it look very neat and clean.

Solid Structures installed landscape lighting in our front and back yards. The crew completed the work quickly and management ensured the job met our expectations. They even have a lighting demo kit so you can get a feel for the projects outcome before commiting to a purchase.

The crew arrived on time, reviewed with us the proposed work per the contract and went to work. We were fortunate to have a great team of four guys: Josh, Duff, Lance and Shaun. For a day and a half they prepared the ground for the pavers then laid them including having to cut several for the required curve. They worked well together, had a great attitude and had a superb dialogue with us as the job progressed. Definitely recommend these guys and Solid Structures.

Scott, the owner of the company, came by to do an estimate. He measured out the length of the fence and 2 gates and gave a very professional and fair bid. He was able to write up a proposal and email it on the spot. He applied for a permit with the city (Chesapeake), and because it was a corner lot, I had to do a little amendment with approval from neighbors which delayed the start date by 2 weeks. After we got started, it took two men about 3 days to complete. The fence looks great. There were only a couple of nails that missed the target. Our neighbors and we are happy with the results.

Showed up late, work was mess and I could go on and on but will not. Scott apologized at the end, but in my eyes, this should have never happened. We experienced too much stress and it was a real thorn in the eye to have to pay for this stress. It amazes me how people can stay in business with such workmanship.

There were also some pieces of the aluminum fencing that had scratches on them from shipping. We did ordered in all new pieces and had them installed promptly upon their arrival. Upon completion of the job we walked the job with Mr. [Member Name Removed] and he was very appreciative of work and adjustments that were made when we received the new parts. If you should have any issues with your fence you do have a one year workmanship warranty. Please do not hesitate to call."

At first all seemed fined but shortly after the install the the wooden fence gate started to warp and no response from the company. this is an updated version of the review as I believe in second chances and it turns out that the post was the culprit, it warped twisting the gate out of shape, if I'd been more persistent in my efforts to contact the company I'm sure they would have been on it quickly, as it was they came out and replaced the post in the blink of an eye and all is right in the world, well, within 20 feet of the gate anyway. Scott was great in addressing my concerns and rectifying the situation quickly. I'm happy as a clam

Signed the contract April 29. The contract states May 27 start date. I called May 25 to ensure they were starting on the 27th and they said no we are stating on 5/28. OK??? On 5/27 two flat beds came and dropped off wood and railings blocking garage. Today, 5/28, I receive a call at 9:00 AM (the start time), that the job won't start until next week at the earliest. I asked why and it is because of the weather. Really? Last I checked we have a drought and my lawn is dead. I called the owner and found out that they use another team to do their installs. So basically you are paying someone to hire someone who won't show up.
Now I have wood blocking my drive way and rain projected all next week. Clearly I won't be getting a fence or new rails anytime soon.
I should have just hired a handyman.

---Update ---
I wish I had cancelled the contract completely. Delay after delay. No shows (say they would be there one day and show up a day later). Say they would be here at one time and show up 4 hours late.
Overall this whole project was a nightmare. Solid Structures is understaffed and overbooked. Don't expect a crew to come in and knock out your job because you are getting 2 guys who are working on several houses at a time. At the end of the day I was told I should be happy they completed it 2 days early. Only because they give themselves a 7 day window.
Carefully read the contract. They have made it impossible to hold them liable for their poor workmanship. I ended up with 12 broken irrigation lines and a split cable line. Think about it - who keeps digging when you break a line? I would have loved to know when the first line was broken so I could have had someone come out and re-route it.
Consider hiring a handy man or possibly a landscaping company. This particular company works for the big box stores too. I have a peer that manages the southeast district and verified this company is one of their subs.
The best part is the uneven boards and warped gate. I am hiring an outside company to repair the work they did.

"[Member name removed] we are sorry that you were unsatisfied with the scheduling and some aspects of the job. Scheduling in the spring is very difficult. Especially when we are working a month out. Any weather issues in that month snowball and build upon each other. It also assumes that we don't have any unforeseen construction issues. We did start 2 days behind the estimated start date, but also finished 2 days before the estimated completion date while working around the landscaper who was grading the yard. We have language we review at contract signing to protect both partys involved. As it pertains to the sprinkler lines this is written: "Private Utilities: Any private sprinkler systems, electrical lines, drain lines, sump pump lines, invisible fences, and other pipes or wires not located by Ms. Utility should be marked by the customer prior to installation. Solid Structures Decks and Fences, LLC assumes no responsibility for damage to lines not marked by Ms. Utility or the customer." Our intention is to educate before install to prohibit situations that can cause damage. Due to your feedback we have started a new scheduling procedure to keep clients better updated in the time leading up to their install. Your feedback has made us better. Thank you."

Removed, hauled away old fence and installed a new pressure-treated fence that was built onsite (75' linear feet). The two gentleman that did the install were great! They did a great install, cleaned everything up and overall the fence looks great! Really happy with the job. Thx!
