When the work was finished, my father noticed that his iPod was missing and the only ones that could have took it were the Sears workers. My father and I called Sears about the matter, but we were dismissed along with our claims. They would avoid our calls and didn't care about the situation.
We filled a police report, and surprisingly, the iPod was found at a retailer. When the police questioned the technician, he openly admitted to stealing the iPod. Once again, we tried to reach Sears in regards to this matter and the district manager showed no interest. After a month, and even reaching out to the home office, he never returned my call.
The home office was a little more responsive, and they offered us "$200 and some change" of credit to use at their store. That's insulting because they literally stole from us, and then wanted us to go shopping at their store.
I would like an explanation of why the district manager did not respond to my calls and what their policies are regarding background checks. Further, I am curious to know about their customer service policy because this is ludicrous.
My father is an older gentleman and I insisted that he go to Sears because I thought they had a good reputation.
