We get this same service done repeatedly from other contractors and I have 30 years as a Facility Manager and know what this service should cost. So my comment comes with professional experience.
I could not get my regular HVAC mechanic due to the fact he was out of town.
Services performed:
45 min labor: put freon in heat pump and check pressure
10lbs 410a: freon (approx $120 per 25lbs)
cost: 475.00
Evidently, the owner lives in Fl. and contracts with locals to do the work. The person we talked to was Dave Allen. He never showed up but sent an independent contractor.
Basically I was charged 300.00 per hour labor and 150% markup for the freon. I paid the worker (who barely spoke English) and called Dave to express my disapproval. This guy became belligerent and condescending to the point I had to put down the phone. We were ripped off approximately 200 and that is being generous. Do not hire these people for anything. check the phone number because they trade under several names.
