Went well. Took measurements, provided a quote the same day, and finished earlier than originally estimated.

Excellent. The company is very busy because they have terrific reviews, so I had to be patient. It took about 3 weeks from picking the stone to it being installed. On the day of installation, the workers noticed a blemish on the surface and took it back to be replaced. The next day, they installed a new and very high quality countertop. The workers' commitment to excellence reflected great credit upon themselves and Rock Solid as an organization.

Second time we have used this company. Worked with Tammy to select some granite for new house kitchen. Great price and their install team is fantastic. It was perfect when they were done. No mess, on time...great service all around.

The person who came out to put the cabinets together was a little bit lacking. He didn't even put the granite correctly. He had to come back out and do repairs to it because he didn't pay attention to what he was doing.

We went to Rock Solid to select quartz or granite countertops. They had a fantastic selection of styles, colors, materials (granite, quartz, corian, etc.) and pretty much all of the manufacturers were represented. They had a variety of cabinet styles/colors on display, so it was easy to find samples of the countertops that we liked and see them up against cabinets similar to ours. All in all, it took very little time to choose which material and color we wanted. We also knew we wanted a granite sink, but they didn't represent the manufacturer of the one we wanted, so we bought that elsewhere.
The next step was to schedule templating and install. When we left the showroom on the Saturday of our initial visit, I thought we would be contacted the following Monday or Tuesday with dates. More than a week went by and no contact. I emailed Donna, our sales person, and she said she didn't have the dates yet but would let me know as soon as she had them. A week or so after that, we got our dates. The template date came and went right on schedule, no problems. The guy doing the work was quick, courteous, and professional. We were scheduled to have the counters installed about two weeks after that.
On the Sunday before our install (scheduled for Tuesday), Donna called to say that there had been a mix-up and that our slabs had to be reordered. Our new install date was a week later, on the following Wednesday. No problem, but it felt like we had been waiting forever for our new countertops and sink!
The install date arrived, and the crew was right on time. They took about 4 hours to install the new countertops and sink, and the plumber arranged by Rock Solid came by later that afternoon to hook everything back up.
Everyone did a fantastic job! We are very happy with the final result. The few hiccups in communication along the way were very minor in the grand scheme of things.

They were on time, professional, did exactly what they said, they were very flexible to work around my contractors hours, and showed up two different times, when my contractor messed their schedule up, but they were great people all around. The lady who came out and did the work was great, the gentleman who came out and did the work was great, and they were just all good. I have recommended them to everybody.

I was able to preview the
granite layout prior to installation and then able to adjust the patterns to
suit my desires. I really liked
this feature offered by Rock Solid. The granite was installed 2 weeks after templates
were made. Excellent workmanship
and Rock Solid did a superb job installing granite counter tops in our
kitchen. We have a large kitchen
with angled counter top and the installers lined the seams very well. Teresa and John were very professional
and great to work with.

They did an excellent job. They gave me a 4 week schedule and completed the job on the day they said on the schedule. The planner did an excellent job (Dennis) putting the plans together, The foreman on the job (Billy) did an excellent job. He was always eager to satisfy. There were several changes for which they did not charge. Workmanship was outstanding.
I can recommend the company without hesitation.

Someone from Rock Solid came out to measure the space for the installation. That individual did not ask to see our faucets and we did not think to mention it, not being professionals in countertop installation. Over one of the sinks is a window air conditioner, which we mentioned to Miss Cindy at the time we ordered the countertops. I signed a "Customer Template Verification Form" agreeing to the measurements. There were no specifics related to the faucets (once again, we wouldn't know what to look for as this is the first time we have ever ordered countertops). On April 17, we closed our bed and breakfast in order to enable the installation of the counter tops to occur with no inconvenience to our guests. The Rock Solid counter top installers arrived. Since our kitchen was shut down and torn apart, we went out for breakfast while they worked. The restaurant is one block away. We left them our cell number and asked them to call us when they were ready to leave so we could see the completed job. When we came back from breakfast, they were gone and we had not received a phone call. A couple of hours later the plumber came to install the faucets. He said "Gosh...those counter people couldn't even clean up after themselves". Indeed, there was quartz dust everywhere. On the countertops, on the floor...on anything that wasn't covered, which was just about everything. The plumber took a vacuum cleaner and rags and cleaned up the mess. When he went to install the faucets, they did not fit. Miss Cindy was contacted and when she contacted the countertop installers, she was told that the holes were predrilled in the factory, which was not true. New holes had to be drilled. The soap dispenser was installed on the wrong side...the sink not used to wash the dishes and the one farther away from the dishwasher. So that hole had to be drilled again near the correct sink, leaving an open hole where the soap dispenser had been erroneously been installed. Because the faucets were too big for the space above the sink where there is that air conditioner, our contractor had to be called in to solve that problem. The only solution was to cut open the air conditioner to make the faucet fit into it and then put some kind of sealant into the cut open vents so they would look somewhat presentable. The air conditioner is necessary because we have a huge Thermidor six burner oven/stove, which throws off a whole lot of heat in our small kitchen. I asked Miss Cindy for some care instructions for the countertops. So, now here we are, faucets installed with newly drilled holes and one open hole where the soap dispenser had originally been. Now the issue is: what is going to happen to the new hole? Someone from Rock Solid...I think it was the plumber...made a few suggestions. One was to plug the hole with a round piece of quartz. Another was to install a button that would replace the wall switch that activates the disposer. We chose the second option. We also noticed a chip in the countertop. I asked Miss Cindy for some care instructions for the countertops.I was told that the manufacturer's rep would come out and look at it to see if the chip was a defect in the product. I received a call sometime in May from the Miss Cindy. She told me that the manufacturer's rep would be out sometime that month to look at it. I asked when the hole would be replaced with the disposer button. She said that would happen whenever I hired a plumber to do it. I said that I would not be hiring a plumber and I thought she should take care of that since they created the problem. She also told me that I had signed a paper approving the job when the man came out to measure it and she said she had faxed a copy of it to our contractor. I asked her to send me a copy, too. (Funny thing about that was that, when our contractor came out to install our tile backsplash, I asked him about it and if he would give me a copy. He hesitated, because, gentleman that he is, I think it was hard for him to tell me that he doesn't have a fax machine and did not get such a copy. It was not provided to me by the Miss Cindy per my request.) At this point, when she was seeming not to want to fix the hole at their expense, I went into a basic lesson in customer service 101: "It is not that there is a problem...it's how you solve it that makes an impression on a customer". "Being a small business owner myself, I know that we've had our share of problems and we do whatever it takes to make it right." "What I am trying to do is get to a point where I can recommend you to others and give you a positive review". After she commented that I "got a good deal", I responded that I was "not looking for a good deal, but a good job" and that we never even asked prices when contracting for this job. She then told me she would get the hole fixed with the disposer button. When I asked again for care instructions for countertops, she said I could look them up online. When the man came out to install the disposal button , and then left, there were two drip stains on the new stainless steel sink. I mentioned this to our sales person. She asked me if he had cleaned up after himself. When I responded that he had, she said the stains were probably acetone. Nothing I could do would remove them. So she sent someone out to remove the stains, which he mostly did with some .04 steel wool. This was during the week of July 9. Meanwhile, even though we were told that we would be hearing from the manufacturer's rep in May about the chip in the countertop, and were again told that we would be hearing from him in June, when the man came to repair the sink stain, I asked him if he was the one who was going to repair the chip. He said he didn't know anything about it. I said: "Do you mean that our sales rep. did not tell you about it?" He said that was the case. So he went out to his truck and fixed the chip with some epoxy. I still have never heard from the manufacturer's rep. I asked the stainless steel repair man if he could tell me how to care for these countertops (never having had stone countertops before) and he kindly gave me the name of a product and told me I could only get it online. He also provided me with his business card and encouraged me to call him with questions. I had one questions while ordering the product and he was very helpful in responding. The product works great. So now here we are on July 19, a full 3 months after this story began and we are about to pay the bill. If it were me, I would at least apologize or do something for the customer for the inconvenience and aggravation. Instead, I am paying the bill in full (after I get back to the Miss Cindy to let her know if I did or did not put a deposit on the job, as she seems not to have a record of it) and I am writing the review I was hoping not to write.

What a Nightmare! We bought the granite countertops through Home Depot during a sales promotion. Home Depot used Rock Solid as their subcontractor. From the time we ordered to completion was almost 2 months. First, Rock Solid took almost 2 weeks to contact us to schedule the countertop templating. Richard was our project manager and he claimed that we gave the wrong phone number. In actuality, Rock Solid's phone system would not call my cell phone (a IPhone). Richard continued to use this as an excuse to not promptly return my phone calls all the way to the end. However, Home Depot was able to contact me. Okay, back to the templating, Rock Solid notified us that it would be another 2 weeks before a templating person could come out because of the overwhelming response to the promotion. When the templating did come, everything was okay. During that time, the granite slabs came in and we had the opportunity to look at them (Rosewood). My wife loved the pattern/grain of these particular slabs.

Next came time for the installation...about another 2 weeks after the template was complete. We removed the old sink/countertops ourselves (saving about $750)...this DIY project was way too easy for a couple of newbies...I digress. The installers were professional and courteous. They installed the countertops (minus the backsplash/bartop) fairly quickly. One issue, that was a surprise to us, was that one of the countertops was actually 2 pieces, which would be glued together. The grain/pattern of both pieces did not match so the seam is very obvious. Definitely poor quality worksmanship by the company for their lack of attention to detail when cutting the slabs.

The major problems came in installing the backsplash and bartop. There was almost a 1/4" gap between the backsplash and bartop. The installers stop work at that point and called back to the shop. They told us there was enough slab left to recut the backsplash and they would be back in 2 days to reinstall. The day they were supposed to arrive, Richard called and said they were not coming out since they have no more backsplash. Then he proceeded to argue with my wife and me that it was our fault that this happened. After several veiled threats by him that we signed the contract and they were under no obligation to fix their mistake, he finally stated that they could order new slab or give us a refund for the backsplash. For the new slab, there was no more of our lot number so it was a gamble whether or not the slab would even match our grain/pattern. For the refund, it was only about $400...probably not enough if we decided to do a tile backsplash.

After given these options, we contacted Home Depot to see what they could do...which was not much initially. After about of week of phone calls between us, Home Depot, and Rock Solid. We decided to have the installers come back out and see if they could just close the gap with stints and sealant (based on the advice of Richard). They came out, and this plan would not work..the gap was just way too big. After informing Home Depot again of our dissatisfaction, the regional manager came out to inspect the work and discuss options. Finally, we had some one who cared about the customer. We discussed several options, and decided with shaving off about 1/8" from the halfwall that the bar sits on top. Also, he told us to go pick up some supports for the bar top and they would install as well. After about another 5 days (and multiple calls back to Home Depot), Rock Solid finally contacted us to finish installation. They did, to include lowering the bartop, taking off and reinstalling the moulding, and installing the supports. Definitely glad we decided with this option. We had to recaulk everything once they were done.

Excellent. Work was quick, complete, and detailed. Used granite not in their shop from Fleet Supply in Portsmouth, no problem. Cabinet work and counters Wow!s everyone. Their custom cabinetmaker and their granite folks were excellent. Work area tarped and curtained for as little disruption as possible to our family life.

We were very pleased with them. Their showroom and staff were very professional and very well set up. Their workmanship was flawless, no complaints. Their installation teams were very knowledgeable and did a good job. We had no complaints with any part of the process. We were doing a custom kitchen and there were instances in the design and the templating where they pointed out some issues that would arise based on the projected dimensions of some of the cabinetry so we were able to make some changes prior to the final bill. It showed their understanding of kitchens and layout of the appliances and cut outs. They were quick to point out some conflicts in how it would all lay out.

Rock Solid installed custom St. Cecilia granite counter tops, with an under mount 18 gauge sink. Everyone from the sales staff to the template person, to the installers were very professional. They were prompt in returning phone calls, showed up when they said they would, and did a bang up job on the fit and installation. I would recommend them and use them again in the future.

This company was easy to get in touch with. We had no problems and the whole project seemed to go along with no issues. The only thing against them is that they forgot a portion of back splash that took four days to get cut and corrected. They were overall a clean company that worked fast, in fact they were in and out in an hour and a half. The finished product turned out how we wanted, and we were satisfied with the service.
