Mari Zecchini, owner of Pungo Pet Sitting, is professional, reliable and compassionate in her care of animals.  She has been our pet sitter for the past two years; we have left our pets in her care for up to two weeks at a stretch.  She provides excellent, personalized care for our four cats who are always in good spirits when we return home. In addition, Mari picks up the mail and has helped me water my plants in hot weather.  
We were particularly difficult clients over the past year as one of our cats was very old and had diabetes requiring injections twice a day. He was also arthritic and frequently missed the litter pan.  Mari dealt with all his needs patiently and lovingly, calling or texting me with updates and issues related to his condition.  This beloved pet has since died, but I would never have been comfortable leaving him in someone else's care.
I am completely confident knowing Mari is caring for our animals and highly recommend her.

Mari came to my house every day, spent about a half hour caring for my cats.  Service was way beyond the basics.  Not only did she make sure they had food and water, she cleaned the litter box and played with each of them.  She took the time to get to know each cat by name, and his or her personality.  She left a daily log detailing each visit.  She also texted me photos of my "furry kids" from time to time.  

In addition, Mari brought in the mail and looked around the house to make sure there were no issues while I was gone. This gave me great peace of mind knowing that my pets and home were in good hands while I was away.

I highly recommend Pungo Pet Sitting.  Not only for the quality of service, but for the professional way Mari runs her business.  She returns phone calls and emails promptly and  provides a written service agreement and invoice so that there are no questions or misunderstandings later.

I got regular texts and photo updates from her visits whilst I was away and a journal of the happenings of her visits was waiting for me when I got home. Mari (and Ken) are wonderful pet sitters.  We have complete trust that Packer is well taken care of when we are gone.  Have used them for nearly a year, and are so pleased with the service and cost.  They notify us every time they visit by texting us a picture of our cat.  They keep a detailed description of how Packer is doing at every visit, and they seem really in tune with how he is feeling and behaving.  We can recommend Mari and Pungo Pet Sitting to anyone.  Clearly the best experience we have had since living in Virginia Beach.

I have been using Mari for my pets for four or five years, maybe longer, from before she started her own business. I am always extremely pleased with how happy the dogs are and how nice the house looks when I come home. She normally covers over night visits but on the rare occasion I will have her do a regular walk/visit if something unusual is going on. Mari is extremely trustworthy and reliable! Even though the price is a little higher than some other sitters, I know I can always count on Mari to take fabulous care of my furry babies and my home!

Words can not describe how pleased we were to have hired Pungo Pet Sitting to care for our cats. From the very beginning, Mari went above and beyond what we asked of her. She not only took very good care of our cats (one of which requires daily medicine), but she also watched over and took very good care of our home. She was in constant communication with us to make sure we were appraised of any issues or to just keep us informed. Mari and occasionally her husband Ken were excellent....very knowledgeable, always on time. My dog actually improved greatly due to their consistent use of gentle leash training.

My kids love "Auntie Mari" every time she comes to visit.  And I love that I always come home to happy girls, a clean house, and have no stress while I am traveling. She spends hours each day (often more time than I normally have) bonding with my pups while she is here, and caters to each of thier favorite playtime activities as much as possible. (Coco likes her rolly toy and Ritzy prefers her squirrell!) She has even brought them toys she knew they would love just to keep them entertained and engaged. Due to their size difference, (4 lbs and 21 lbs) my dogs have separate diets and eating areas which could be problematic for some, but she handles it with ease. And their age difference (1 and 13) requires attention to differing exercise needs which she also handles like the pro that she is.
Her love of animals and dedication to ensuring they are happy and healthy is evident EVERY time she comes to visit.  I am often envious but always thrilled to see the fun she and the girls are having while I am away thanks to the photos and updates she shares during my travels.
In addition, she treats my home as her own and always leaves it in the same or even better shape than I left it. A drooping plant gets
watered, the trash bin taken to the curb if I forgot, and the newspaper and mail are always brought in. 
Over the years I have learned that Mari has experience with creatures great and small, exotic and domestic and has a particular fondness for birds. I once had the pleasure of meeting several of her beautiful African Greys, Cocatoos, Sun Conures and more, and am so impressed. Her bird knowledge and qualifications are exemplary. If I were ever to take on an exotic like that, she would be my go to sitter!
She loves the little guys too. I know for sure that my 4 pound Biewer, a much loved miniature greyhound, a multitude of tiny birds, a
pair of tiny little sugar gliders....and I am confident many other "minis" along the way, are loved and cared for as equally as the bigger
"louder" family members.
