Monitronics is very quick to respond. One of the best features of my system is direct voice link to the operators. When there is trouble with the system (low battery or false alarm) they contact you so as not to waste the time of police or firefighters. We've had the system for more than 5 years with no problems.

Horrible customer service. Impossible to get in touch with the general manager. We have left over 5 voicemails because we have been continuously billed the incorrect amount.
Complaint Description:
Power Home Technologies, LLC have not withheld their end of the agreement thus breaching our contract. Signed a home security monitoring contract in December 2015, 5 years at $54.99 a month and was given 72 business hours to cancel without penalty. Within the 72 hours I had found a cheaper home security monitoring company that did not provide a contract. Upon calling the General Manager to cancel the contract, penalty free, we mutually agreed over the phone to change the contract agreements from $54.99 a month to $44.99 a month and from a 5 year contract to a 3 year contract. In January 2016 I was automatically charged the original contract amount of $54.99. I called the office and was told the assistant would take care of this. In February 2016 I was automatically charged $54.99, I called and spoke to the office assistant who informed me that the General Manager would take care of it. In March of 2016 I was automatically charged the original amount of $54.99. Upon calling the assistant I was told to stop calling her and speak directly with the General Manager. I called and left 3 voicemails with the General Manager, none of which were returned. I am very disappointed in the way the company is handling this situation and their lack of effort to withhold their end of an agreement.

I am beyond pleased, and this company receives my HIGHEST recommendation.  We were burglarized recently, so having this alarm system installed promptly and correctly that much more important to me.  They carry the best equipment in the industry, service and install everything locally (no farming out to contractors, like Cox does!) and back it up with super customer service.  My previous experience with an alarm installation with one of the "big" national chain companies was not good -- botched install, equipment I didn't need, higher prices, very long multi-year obligation, etc.  I was delighted that this was NOT the case with Power Home Technologies.  There was absolutely no sales pressure, everyone was extremely courteous and knowledgeable, and I got everything I needed/wanted (and nothing I didn't need/want) all installed the same afternoon of my call to them.  Their prices are extremely competitive, given that they use the best industry-standard equipment, install it right the first time, and have full 24-hr monitoring. Yes, it requires a multi-year contract, but shorter than other companies and the bottom line was very reasonable for me.  Don't be sucked in by those seemingly low introductory package prices that you see advertised from Cox, ADT, and others.  You will quickly find that it doesn't include much, and before you know it, your price has doubled.  Not to mention the headaches you will have trying to get the install and service done correctly.  Let's face it, customer service is everything when it comes to something as important as a security system.  The old adage of "you get what you pay for" is true here.  A security/fire alarm system is a critical purchase, so if it isn't installed properly or you don't get after-sale service, you have wasted your money AND you're not protected.  Do your homework and research, as I did.  Power Home Technologies is a national company that may not be as well known as ADT and others, but they've been around a long time in the industry and concentrate on great customer service and the latest equipment.  And if I ever move elsewhere in the country, I can move my system for free.  I rarely gush this much about a service provider, but in my honest opinion, they have truly earned my highest praise and appreciation!

The technician was professional and walked me through how everything works.  I've had 2 times in the last 2 years where the screen would lose some of the touchscreen icons, but the service department at Monitronics walked me through how to reset it and get it working again.  I would like to know if there is a referral bonus offered if I refer someone and they sign a contract.

In the beginning, it was a little rough but it has been corrected and we've had no more problems. The alarm system sends a signal to our cellphones and the signal stopped coming in. I contacted their customer service and they reassured me that there were absolutely no problems. The power went out several weeks later and that persisted for about three months. I kept calling and they kept reassuring me that everything was fine. I determined, through research on the Internet, that things were not fine and actually my alarm was not turning on or turning off so I was not being monitored. We had not only the alarm but also the smoke detector as well. I spoke to a lady at their corporate office and got an individual who confirmed that our alarm was really turned off and we were not being monitored. They sent a technician out to replace the keypads and the battery to increase the signal strength at which point, we were getting notifications on our cellphone and that reassured me that we were being monitored. Because of the inconvenience and the fact that we were paying for a service that we weren't actually getting for five months, they gave us 12 months of monitoring for free. Had I not persisted, I probably would have continued to pay for a service that we truly weren't getting but when they did realize what was going on, they were very quick to fix it. They did follow up with me a couple of times. The young lady that I spoke with gave me her personal number to call in case we had problems in the future. It ended up being a very easy situation and we were completely satisfied. We still use their service to this day. It's $54.99 a month. It's a "B" on the Overall grade because I felt like I had to push the issue before they identified it in the beginning.

They're great! There hasn't been any trouble with the alarm. It's $54 a month for three years and this includes the monitoring and the cost of the equipment. They're very responsive and cooperative. I just like them. I had problems with one of the light sources and they talked me through how to redo the light source and it saved me the $75 service charge. Because it took about an hour to reset that one light switch, they sent me the battery for free.

It has been good. They charge $50 on a monthly basis. If anyone should go into contract with them, they should understand that it's for a year or so. I should have read it in the first place because any time I wanted to switch to a different company, I can't because I'm bound by contract for a couple of years.

We have no problems with them. The pricing was fine. We had two other companies come in, and their price was within the ball park. We had a system many years ago, and so they didn't have to add anything for the power, it was just to put up for the contact, and the monitoring system. They came out on time, and did everything at the appropriate time. We have no problems with them at all.
