PLUMBING SOLUTIONS OF VA

They said a repair would not last more than a few months - which obviously was BS, but I didn't want to spend the next few years worrying about it either, so we agreed to replacing the entire 30 foot line.  It would cost a little more than normal because they had the ability to snake a new line in behind the bad one and not dig up the yard (except small holes at either end).   They came on time the first day, but it was raining so decided to try again the next day.  Came on time the next day and got started.  I got home after a few hours and the front yard was destroyed and there were 3 guys furiously digging holes all around the middle of the yard trying to find the broken pipe.  They did eventually (just before dark) get all the pipe replaced and reconnected, but left about 20-30 sq feet of destroyed yard in their wake.  They were to come out the next morning and put the yard back together - but skipped out, leaving our front yard trashed.  They did stop by early Sunday morning to get their backhoe (which was left in the middle of the front yard), but in their hurry to escape before we could get out there, they left a large muddy trail down our paver driveway and across the street.  Several calls to ask them about finishing/cleaing up the mess all result in the same thing... we'll send someone out... but they never do.

To make a long story short, It was written in my contract that he may have to break up my concrete and replace it, but didn't end up having to do any of that. He said it could cost up to $6000. They ended up snaking a pipe, a new water line through my current water line in the house out to the city water line. He left out stating he was going to get the city permit, and returned on his motorcyle, his wife in tow. I overheard him speaking with his wife and other workers about how he was going to spend the money I gave him to fix the problem. They ended up starting about 12pm and finished at 7pm and John told me that they were going to do all they could to not break up the concrete, dining room and bathroom and if they could avoid that, it would save me a lot of money. When he came to me stating he was finished, he and his wife came in with a credit card machine, stating I owed them $6000. We argued, no resolution, I didn't pay him that night and we ended up going to court, where he didn't even show up the first time. It was thrown out the first time, without prejudice and they refiled. He ended up settling for $2500 which I thought was a reasonable price, considering the work that was done. He didn't end up even replacing the shut off valves. He was trying to overcharge me for work he didn't do.

This contractor took unfair advantage of me and my family. Once he determined I needed a well, he should have removed the new shallow well pump and returned to his supplier. He said he would contact me after my well was installed. After a well was dug, and a deep well pump installed (by a reputable contractor), I contact Mr. Woods (Plumbing Solutions) who said a partial refund (amount not stated) would be mailed. After waiting over a week, I called Mr. Woods (8/23/07), who said he would personally deliver a refund check to me that same day. I have yet to hear from Mr. Woods (9/10/07). Did not fix problem, outrageous prices. Avoid using. Get everything in writing before any work is performed.
