Orkin Pest Control

Initially, we would've scored a 10. The customer service and knowledge seemed outstanding, and we did not see any roaches. We even decided to go with their termite control, genuinely believing they were looking out for us. Additionally, when researching a new pest control company, I noticed they had a good reputation with mice and rats. When we first moved in, there was a small rat issue, which we paid quite a bit of money to eradicate. My goal was to have a trustworthy, whole- home pest control company, so we chose Orkin. With the onboarding of a new pest control client, it is protocol to do an inspection. At some point, they left the crawl space door ajar. About a month ago, they sent a young man to do "an inspection." What caught me off guard at first, was that he breezed through the home and attic in minutes. I didn't see how he could possibly gather information from such a brief inspection, but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt since he was a professional. Afterwards, he goes beneath the house. He says that the crawlspace door was left open, and that there was rat activity that needed to be taken care of. When I told him that Orkin was our pest control company, and that they we're supposed to be monitoring the situation, I could tell he seemed confused, as if he had no idea they were our pest control company. He proceeded to show me photos with outrageous quotes on how to mitigate this "situation." At first, I was both livid and disgusted, because I couldn't believe we were back in the same boat. I had just spent a fortune to eradicate this issue a year prior...rip out insulation, pest control, new vapor barrier, moisture and fungus treatment, traps, poison- EVERYTHING. When I told him that, he seemed flustered. Luckily, I work for an HVAC company, and they were due to come that same day for an inspection, which includes the crawl space. Our technician, who also used to be in pest control, has certainly seen his share of attics and crawlspaces. He inspected the area thoroughly, and reported that there was no evidence of "activity." Furthermore, he showed me his pictures which debunked everything the young man from Orkin said. The nest was old (not even same color of insulation), the droppings were old and petrified, and the supposed "urine" was not urine at all. My husband also went under the house for at least 45 minutes, verifying what our HVAC tech reported. So, not only did Orkin leave the crawl space door open, fail to do an efficient inspection, neglect to provide pest preventative maintenance, AND try to take advantage of us, but there is more! We called, eventually spoke to a manager, Alex, who agreed with their shortcomings. That day, he sent out our regular technician to set traps. Alex assured us that he would speak to that technician after he was down there, and then call us back. Well, we never received that call. We called, and called again...still no call back. All we want is a whole-home pest control company who knows what they're doing and who we can trust. Like I said before, I am happy with what they have done with indoor pest prevention. If they (Alex) would follow through with fixing this situation as he first said he would; and if Orkin would provide honest and effective service, I would happily change my score. But as of now, they continue to send us a bill, but still have not reached out or even bothered to come check these traps. Nothing. It's completely absurd.

My problem with Orkin is their price and service. I got my bill on Saturday for the work they were to perform today and it had gone up 10% with no notice. So I started looking back. We have had Orkin for about 7 years at this house and many years at the home we had before. I went back 5 years and realized that every July without notice the rate has increased 10% for the same service. I called the office and spoke to the manager and he offered to continue our every other month spraying around the outside of the house for $65.00 instead of the $87.48. I told him I would call him back. On Monday, I called back and got someone else who told me that I had to give them 30 days notice to cancel my service and that it was in the paperwork I had signed many years ago--I told her that they had never given me 30 days notice on raising my rate and then she got snippy with me. They came and did my service today and they better not show up again. I can get a bottle of perimeter spray at Walmart and do it myself for about $15! I will never recommend them to anyone.

They are kind. I pay them annually. I don't have termites, so whatever they are doing is working. The price was cheaper. The local guy would have cost me less, but I don't know if it would have got the termites out. They are responsive. They call a day before, so the dog is not in the backyard to help them.

They are good company. I would rate them an A overall. They are on time track. I would use them in the future.

I have used this company for about 40 years. I have recommended them to others. The price is reasonable. They arrive when they say they will and are very punctual. I haven't seen any evidence of termites since they have been coming. They are very professional.

I've been using them for 20 years. I can tailor their service to what I need. They're good at what they do. They work with me on what I can afford. They are real careful not to use anything that will harm animals and kids. They're technicians are knowledgeable and they respond very quickly.

It went very well. They were a very reliable company. The techs that had come out to the house knew what they were doing. They were very professional and courteous. If they did the service in a certain month, they would come back within that month to make sure that everything was okay.

Whenever I have a problem, they come out and take care of the problem without any additional charge. I would use them in the future.

The service is great, but they do not have very many payment options. They either charge your credit card or take the payment out of your checking account. I would prefer to remit them they payment when I can.

They were very professional and they wore uniforms. They were very courteous, prompt and they were fast in doing the job. I won't be using them again in the future because of the price; I will go with a cheap company.

We spend about $120 for the year. Our experience with them has been good and we have had them ever since we owned the house, which is a long time. They are reliable I would think.

They have came out twice for us. They offer a 100% warranty for termite issues. That is why I went with them. If they spray and the termites come back, they will come back to spray again. They have been great.

I would say that the price is reasonable and that I usually pay around 100 dollars. The price that I do pay is very decent and works out good. They have always been on time and professional.

My only problem is that I don t have a direct number to the exterminator. When I have a problem I call and it directs me to a corporate office and they take a message and it is 3 days before a exterminator comes out. When I have a problem, I want it taken care of right away. They do show up in between appointments if I need them just not immediately. They do a good job and are professional.

I chose them based on the fact that they are a national company. Upon signing up for the service, I received a special promotion for termite control. I am so pleased with their capabilities of solving my termite problem.

I have a yearly service contract with them where they come out once a month during the summer months. Drew is the name of the guy that always comes out to my home; he is always nice and polite. I am totally satisfied with this company and don't have any issues with them. I have been using them for years and have referred them to my neighbors.

I am satisfied with their service. They do a good job. They come in a timely manner and are always very courteous. I plan to continue using their service as I am happy with it. I would recommend this company to my friends.

The guy that Orkin sent out crawled underneath my house to inspect for termites. I was sure glad to have him do that because I wouldn't want to. I was very happy with Orkin, and their price covered any problems that we had all year.

It has been sixteen years since we first called Orkin, and were loyal to them after the very first visit. We have always appreciated their attitude. If there are any areas we would like them to concentrate on, they will do it without any complaining, or hesitation. As long as they arrive on time, and keep our house free of bugs, they will continue to get our business.

I have a termite bond with Orkin and I have been using them for thirty years now. I find that their service overall very good and I will continue to use the company. Orkin calls when it is time to inspect to schedule the appointment.

I have been using Orkin for many years and I am very satisfied with everything. I called them years ago to come clear up the problem I was having at first, and just kept them around ever since then. I pay them yearly to keep them inspecting. That also includes anything that may happen in between. There is nothing bad to say about them as a company at all. I am happy and will continue my services for many more years.

I have been using Orkin's services for thirty years and I really trust them and like the service. They call when it is time to come out and check the home. They come out four times a year.
