Moore's Floors

Luke tiled our kitchen, hallway, and front foyer this weekend and did an amazing job. We went with the wood look and a mosaic transition and it looks great! He kept the mess to a minimum and was very courteous and professional. Great work ethic and we couldn't be happier!

I was initially impressed with Luke but over the course of the two weeks it took him to finish the job at our home it become increasingly obvious he had significantly under estimated the scope of work or the the time it would take to complete it.  As a result he was constantly rushing and the quality of his work suffered greatly.  I routinely had to clean up after him and multiple times he approached me requesting partial cash payments citing various hardships. After the job was completed he repeatedly ignored our requests to return to our home to correct a few issues which resulted in threatening demands for us to make final payment even though we were not satisfied and had given him plenty of opportunity to correct the situation. He never returned to correct the issues even after we gave in and he was paid in full.   I called the city of Virginia Beach to report him only to find out het he was not licensed to do business in Virginia Beach and did't have a contractors license from the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) in Richmond, VA which is a state requirement.  I highly recommend you think twice before hiring this guy, you will not realize what you have gotten yourself into until its too late.

The townhouse was vacant at the time of install.
The flooring itself looks OK except for two bad pieces (the planks were gouged but he still installed them).
The trim and molding work is not the best carpentry work though.  It was raining the day he did the work, so he did all the cutting inside.  That was a huge mistake and I should never have allowed that.  It took me two days to re-clean the entire property.  Laminate makes a lot of dust when it is cut.  The biggest problem I have is he installed the two already damaged pieces of laminate and when he nailed one of the transition pieces, it cracked.  He finished the job around 7pm on a Sunday night and it was dark, cold and rainy.  I briefly walked the job site that night but he was packed up, had his car running and was ready to go home.  So I paid him and he left.
 I contacted him the next day to inform him of the problems I found, and  told him  I wanted the two bad pieces replaced and the cracked transition replaced. I also sent him pictures.  He said he would putty the transition, but I told him I wanted the transition replaced.  He agreed to do that and said he would do it one morning before he went to another job.  I told him I needed this done before the end of the month because I had new people moving in.  On three occasions during the month of March I contacted him via email and offered to meet him at the property on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.  On one of those contacts, he did not respond.  On the other two he responded he would contact me on the morning he wanted to do the work so I could meet him there.  He never contacted me.  As I write this review, the work still has not been done and I have not heard from him in over a week.  I have new people moving into the property today.  
I made a huge mistake by paying in full before having the opportunity to fully inspect the job.
Lesson learned.

Superb job! I've used Moore's floors twice. Once to tile my master bathroom and once to retread my staircases. Luke does not overcharge and is not trying to get rich off of you. What he charges is reasonable for his business to continue and you to get the work done. And the work is Beautiful!

They were fine and it was a good experience. The time and the quality were good. There was a gentleman named Chris that worked for their company and I really preferred him; I can't seem to find him anymore. He was a perfect laborer; very knowledgeable. They are all very knowledgeable and it is a good company.

He did mine and also some of my neighbors. His work is outstanding. It is a local company. He was very professional and paid attention to detail. He did immaculate work. One guy came in and did it all. He was quiet and cleaned up. It was amazing attention to detail. It is amazingly straight. It looks like a machine did it. It was amazing. It is beautiful. I plan to use him for my other bathroom.
