MC CARPET INSTALLATION

This installer had done the floors, slate and bamboo, in my business earlier this year. I get constant compliments. So, when I started the renovation of a neglected condo, I naturally called him for the floors. The first floor is about 800 square feet and includes a bedroom, foyer, kitchen and living area. All of it was being replaced in a pricey, hand-hewn, deeply grained wood. It was a new laminated product from Armstrong and I was a little anxious about getting someone that knew their work. He tore out the old carpet and hauled it away for me. After we discussed design possibilities, he laid the floor on a diagonal changing direction from room to room. Because the wood came in from the manufacturer with dust in the grain, he wet-wiped each piece before he laid it. If a piece had an unusual marking that might be distracting, he replaced it and used it in closets or under the dishwasher. He stained and installed all the quarter round, removed appliances and put them back, stared early every morning and worked until dark. All of the diagonal cutting took more time, but there was no extra charge. The floor is beautiful!
