For the most part, the crew was very professional and hard working...there were a few exceptions to that rule, but not enough to keep us from using them again. Mike is good to work with, and we appreciate his efforts to make sure everything was done.

Very responsive, professional, clean , neat and reasonable. Have referred to others. Will only use them from now on. Have used them twice so far.

Prompt estimate. Excellent work. On time. On budget. Would definitely hire again. Have referred him to others and they give high marks also.

Mike and his crew were referred to me three years ago by my sales rep at Ethan Allen (no relation!) and I couldn't be happier. Great experience. Mike was very responsive to both my calls and emails. Came out and reviewed the work that was needed and quickly provided a quote. Scheduled work within my time frame. Painters were very punctual and always cleaned up at the end of each day. They were a pleasure to deal with, very accommodating, and careful with moving furniture around. They did an excellent job! We have used MA Allen for both interior and exterior house painting for over 10 years at our current home.  They have always done an excellent job.  Mike isn't the lowest priced contractor, but his  prices are reasonable and you get quality work.  On the few occasions when we have found things that we wanted touched up or repainted, Mike re-did the work without question.
On this project, they repainted the entire interior of an older  2800 square foot house -- walls, ceilings, trim and doors.  They started and completed the job right on the advertised schedule. 
Based on our 10+ years of experience using MA Allen, including the most recent work (July 2014) if you want a quality painting job done at a reasonable price, you can't go wrong with Mike Allen.

Great!  Talk about excellent customer service!  Not only were Rick and Sam punctual, courteous, efficient, effective and competent but they also engaged in adding many little extras -  touched up a wall that needed a little repainting, replaced an air filter and cleaned the grill over it and cleaned the skylight for me.  They worked hard continuously throughout the day.  I have had very little luck with painters in the past and I feel like I hit the jackpot with this company.....thank you so much!

Michael Allen's Custom Painting Team worked on my home for two weeks, and we couldn't be happier.  There was a team of what seemed like a dozen professionals.  
Wallpaper: They did a quick and effective job of stripping some very old wallpaper.  They were able to remove some old mirrors and then remove the wallpaper under the mirrors and paint the drywall.  It looked great!
Painting:  All the rooms, ceilings and doors were painted.  Michael was very detailed oriented to ensure that the proper paint colors were applied in the proper areas.  His crew were very professional, and they made some suggestions to me for painting items in the room that did not occur to me, but I did not receive an additional charge.  The team was very responsive to all of my requests.  The house was transformed to our dream home.
Plaster:  the plaster on some walls and floors was floated and smoothed.  The work was done professionally, and we are extremely satisfied with the results.
Overall:  Most of the crew on the team have worked for this company for many years, and the quality shows.  I highly recommend hiring Michael Allen for all of your painting, wallpaper removal and plaster work.  This was the second time that I hired MA Allen Custom Painting, and I am glad that i chose this company.  

All I can remember is that the weather was good and that they cleaned the driveway among other places.

Mike Allen's Custom Painting is a truely professional company that provides quality service and workmanship in completing the painting of my condo / townhome. Work was performed over the Christmas and New Year holidays and was completed within the timeline desired. What was great about this company was that the same, core group to perform the painting came every day, not a new person every day. They were ringing the door bell at 8:00am (as planned) ready to go to work and were finishing / cleaning up at 4:30pm so that they were done by 5:00pm when we got home. You could tell that Mike's guys have worked for his company and each other for a very long time as they were well coordinated in their planning of what was to get done each day and shared a unique camaradrie, not unlike what is found in the military. Mike offered really good suggestions for getting the painting done plus his crew offered several enhancements to make several areas of what was to be painted better than what was planned. All of the crew were respectful and congenial to what we wanted / needed to get done. They repaired holes in walls, cut in windows, doors, and ceilings with straight lines and really took care of the little things that mattered. The best part of it all was the cost. I requested three quotes from three professional painting companies on Angie's List and Mike's quote was significantly lower than the other two painting companies. For the price, I believe I got more "bang for my buck".

When I need painting again, the extremely professional  M.A. Allen Cusom Painting will be the company I will call.  The painters kept the property as neat and clean as possible, and their painting expertise shows in all their work.  Before the painters came in, another company was here to do some ceiling work.  When they moved furniture, they piled everything together, without any consideration for things that were fragile.  Five objects were broken (I didn't realize this until I tried to move the pile of my belongings).  Mike Allen took it upon himself to help me fix these objects.  Mike was available if I had any questions, or if I wanted to change colors. He was in my house, several times, to make sure that the work was done properly. I couldn't have asked for a better company, andI am happy that I found A.M Allen Custom Painting.

Mr. Allen was prompt and attentive in responding to our request for an estimate. His cost estimate was competitive. The painting was accomplished on an agreed to schedule which was honored without any problems. Workers were respectful of owner's property and accommodating in addressing their specific needs and desires. Quality workmanship throughout without any need for call backs and no additional charges.
Overall, a most pleasant experience. I would highly recommend M A Allen Custom Painting, and will use them again for any additional painting needs.

A great company!  Our house looks fantastic!  The owner, Mike, came to the estimate and was pleasant and his price was very compatitive. He assigned a painter, Kenny, who worked meticulously and cleanly.  We had to reschedule a couple of times to work around the flooring company refinishing our floor and they were very flexible.  I highly recommend this company for any pain job around the house. 

The work was nice. They painted 3000 square feet at $4000. They were very punctual, professional and courteous. They went outside of their job detail to help us take out a screw out the wall and other things. They were willing to be of service.

We had a miscommunication about the paint colors and when I called to let him know I wasn't crazy about the color of the walls, Mike immediately ran out to buy the correct paint and came the next day to repaint the entire room.
