I met their contractor and all he did was complain. I used to be a contractor until I got old so I know prices. This guy himself went over what Lowe's told me it would initially cost by over $1,000.00. He didn't want to be there. He didn't like the neighborhood, he was afraid of the neighborhood. He was over an hour late. When I went into Lowe's to complain about it, they took care of it, except I didn't have them do the door.

Very well - the project was completed in one day. Upon requesting an estimate, I was given an appointment that same day.

I purchased a lot of stuff from them. I have had Lowes credit card for years. I have Lowes identity card so I just swipe that and it identifies all my purchases and how many points I have accommodated. I get 5 percent discount from them on anything I purchase and put it on their card. Thank goodness my wife pays at the end of the month or whenever the bill comes. They don't put any interest on that so I have worked out a system that is pretty good. I have never had a bad experience purchasing anything from Lowes. They are the first place I look for on whatever I want. They have got it all up there. Their prices are always competitive or better.

Purchased stove from LOWES, and had them install it. They arrived on time and professionally installed the unit. We appreciated the sales person's and installer's knowledge of the product.

I used the gift card towards a general purchase at Lowe's. I've been dealing with Lowe's since the 1980s. They're very good about returns and don't give you a hassle.

Hardware & Home Improvement Stores, Roofing + 1 more
We placed a call to get an estimate for a roof, gutters and facia wrap. Mr Dereck Sellers came out from lowes store # 86 on Holland Road in Virginia Beach, VA. He came out was extremely friendly took measurements which turned out to be way off count later. He made a lot of promises such as service and fair pricing etc. He stated to us he would send out Anderson roofing the company he said they used the most, Anderson roofing came out and gave an estimate which was way off from Mr. Sellers. I requested an additional estimate and Mr. Sellers at this time suggested a second company Integerity Inc. The owner of Integerity was a lot more helpful over all and seemed to have more experience. At this point we asked Dereck to call us to discuss estimates work etc. he did not return our calls it even got to the point we were calling the store as well as his manager Rob and the store manager Jady to try and make contact with Dereck. We finally spoke to Dereck one more time and asked for the estimates,he mailed out a handwritten estimate which did not have half the information we requested so again we called and again no returned calls from Dereck even though Lowes provides his phone to stay in touch with the customers. I initially thought that going through Lowes for the services listed was a good idea due to the fact that even if the roofers went out of business etc. Lowes would still be a support system for any issues that might arise (I was wrong in my conclusions). Initialy the store made numerous excuses for him however the excuses began to wane. I feel if Lowes reps had been out of the picture Integerity roofing made have got our business. We were also advised by several other persons not to go with Lowes due to customer service issues. Up to this point we have been loyal Lowes fans and have done most of our purchases at the Holland Rd. store because we always had been treated better at Lowes as opposed to Home Depot on Lynnhaven pkwy. I have to say in the last year not just with the roof issue customer service and the store in general has gone down hill in some areas. We also went in to speak to the store manager to show a text message we had sent to Dereck about customer service and calls I also advised him to track Dereck's phone records to see proof of the number of calls etc that were put in to Dereck as opposed to how many he actually responded to. Some of the excuses we received overall were that he was extremely busy, did not have an extra assistant and another one was that Lowes had only been in the roof business for about two years. In Derecks defense I would say the extra person would have been somewhat helpful however he could have called just to say he needed extra time etc. The few times he did call when we first began the process was that his car broke down as well as some other personal issues. Needless to say we will not be using Lowes for any of our future projects. And yes we called Lowes corporate office also.
I can only imagine the chaos had we chosen Lowes for our home project.
Jady stated he would have a meeting with Dereck. We were never really asked by anyone about what they could do to not lose our business.

Fencing Service
Project planning: I signed up for Angies List and contacted four contractors that were listed. All four called me back and the times varied from the next day through about a week. One contractor quoted me 5K, one 3.5K (without hauling the old fence), Lowes came in at approx 4K with removal and the fourth contractor never called me back. I used a military discount and chose Lowes.
Contract signing: I signed the contract to get the fence on April 30, 2012 and the fence was finished on June 8, 2012. There were several times that I was given dates for when the work should start but they did not materialize. I felt the need to keep a record of the phone calls and my attempts to contact. Be careful when you sign the contract. They give themselves two months on the contract to get the fence completed. Contract had work starting on 5/30/12 and estimated completion by 6/30/12. I was made to believe this is commonly what they put but it should only take a couple of weeks. As June started approaching I was pretty frustrated but a contract is a contract. In fairness, the sales person told me there was a problem with the paperwork and was apologetic and around the last week of May, I was told someone would contact me and they did. I was out of town the week of Memorial Day and the contractor was scheduled to start on Monday, June 4. I had to return early on Sunday, June 3 so the materials could be dropped off at the house. This went without a glitch. The work was contracted out to Action One Fence from Suffolk, VA.
Work commencement: I was called around 9 p.m. on Sunday night and told that they would not be able to start until Tuesday because of the rain over the weekend. I was told the crew would arrive at around 0930 on Tuesday. They did not arrive until 11:30. I almost had to leave because I had to get back to work. The crew was nice and the lead installer was apologetic. There were three of them and they were young (19-21 years of age).
Installation: The first day they worked until 10:00 p.m. I did not want to stop them because they got there so late. They were able to take down most of the fence on the first day. The second day they showed up late morning again and was able to get one side up. They also cut one of the neighbors fruit plants and I had to solve this problem. The third day (Thursday), the Lead Installer hurt his hand. I was concerned because he was the hardest worker. So I called Lowes. This is where they really shined. One of the ladies (Amy) in Install Sales was fantastic. She understood customer service and told me she would contact the owner and handle it. Thirty minutes later, the three man crew was really moving. They got 85% complete on Thursday and told me they would be finished by noon Friday. I told them I would meet up with them at 4:30 when I get off work. On Friday when I got home, they were still working but near the end. They finished around 5:30 on Friday.
Final product: After the crew finished they cleaned up the yard, sprayed off my deck and we walked around. The fence was a quality well built fence. It looks very nice and was a good value.
Lessons Learned (Pros) - The reason I went to Lowes was because I could put it on the credit card and get 6 months same as cash; I believed if there was a problem, I know where they are located and they are not going out of business next week; and they gave me a good fair price. All of these things they did. Also, like I said in my narrative, at the end of the process, Amy at Install Sales was fantastic and saved the entire experience.
(Cons) - Lowes and the contractor overpromised and did not deliver when they said they would. They always had reasons. Some of my earlier phone calls where not returned in what I thought was a reasonable time (2 business days). Also, if you have neighbors who border your property, make sure they are okay with the placement of the fence.
Final thoughts: The fence looks nice and it is well built. The price was fair. The process was somewhat painful, but I had a house built one time and that was painful as well. If price, payment and warranty are important to you, Lowes may be for you. However, if you need your fence up immediately and you value punctuality above price, this may not be your fence installer.

I think the store is fine. It's just a little farther away than Home Depot. It's a nice store. They have good hours. I didn't give the employees a chance to come up to me and sell anything. I only wanted the tool that was sold out.

Hardware & Home Improvement Stores, Plumbing
They made an appointment immediately convenient for us and showed up on time. The work was flawless and Mr. Singleton, the plumber, did a professional install, in a timely fashion, and he was friendly and informative and cleaned up after himself. We were extremely pleased and plan to use Lowe's and their contractors, especially Mid-Atlantic Plumbing, again in the near future.

I was pleased with my experience with Lowe's. The installation workers company was Perez. I bought a 3/4 horse power In-sink-brator garbage disposal. I could get some one to help me. They knew what they were talking about. They were friendly. The price was reasonable. There was an additional installation fee. They installers were terrific. They called to schedule a day to come install it. They then called when they were on their way. They also called the same day, after they had left, to follow up and make sure everything was working correctly. They had the entire job done in an hour. Lowe's followed up with me as well. I would use both Lowe's and Perez installation again.

Lowes, was very good. They set up a time and that is when the installers came out, it was a very involved job and used cement.

As a whole they tend to be fairly priced. The quality of their products and their availability stand out. I tend to find their customer service and ability to find everything is better at another home improvement store. I have a hard time finding someone but I am happier with their products and their selection.

Window Service
They did an excellent job, and we were absolutely satisfied with their work. They had excellent pricing, and their professionalism was good. They used subcontractors who were excellent. The workers did the job in one day and cleaned up after themselves too. We were very pleased with the workmanship. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future.

They were pretty helpful and answered all my questions. They haven’t started work yet. They gave me a general idea of how long it would take for work to finish. I have used them before and I keep going back there.

We had windows, fence and carpet installed at our previous house. It was a chore working with the personnel and the sub contractors. The money saved by going to Lowes was definitely NOT worth it. Therefore, when shopping for new doors at our new residence-it was quick decision when we discovered the customer service never improved, in fact was more of the same.

The job went well. It took five hours. The floor looks great. They did a good job of fitting the vinyl.
