Kim's Cleaning Services

When Kim first started cleaning for me, I absolutely couldn't have been any happier. She was reasonably priced, very personable and did a good job. As time elapsed, we started noticing that things were not getting done and we would wait to see if they would be done the next week. Anyway, to make a long story short, we ended having out master bathroom redone and new windows installed which caused major mess and upheaval at our house for a while. It was hardly any point having anyone come in to clean when the entire house was a mess. It seemed like the perfect time to stop having anyone clean, at least for a while. I like Kim very much and wish her much success but for some reason it seemed like she lost her drive and zest for cleaning our house.

Not a fan. Sorry Kim, you are a nice person and I know you make your living this way, but I cannot recommend you for housecleaning. Kim was very professional and showed up as planned and on time. Her quote was high for a personal housecleaner but low compared to a cleaning service. She wanted to charge a bit more for the initial cleaning which I feel is fine and standard. This first cleaning was not very good. She only cleaned open spaces, ignoring with both the vaccum and the duster any place that was hard to get to or had anything on it. A sheet of paper on the counter? Wipe around it. Furniture with tall legs? Ignore floor benieth it. Something pretty on the bookshelf? Dust around it. I actually saw her vaccum the rug and push some baby toys toward the wall with the vaccum rather than take 10 seconds to put them on a chair first. The the floor where the toys landed was never cleaned. This is a problem not just for me, but for the baby's health too. There was another problem with the safey covers for the electrical outlets in the house. Kim would remove them to run the vaccum and they would not be replaced. After she left I spent quite a bit of time trying to find them all and put them back. Some were never found! Although I wasn't happy, I resolved to try again with her; maybe she just needed more guidance about my needs. This time she was in the bathroom, and the sink was visibly dirty. I told her she needed to move things that were in the way, like the toothbrush, so she could clean the sink under it. She said she did; she wiped it. I said, but it's dirty. She said, but I wiped it. I said, but it's dirty. She said, but I wiped it. So this is typical of my experience with her. I left and when I got home there was a note from her saying she did not think this was going to work out. I have to agree.

Kim, I know it hurts you to have a negative review, but I do not lie and have no reason to lie here anyway. I am sorry you are disappointed to have had a bad experience with me. You did get $120 for the first cleaning, which is what you asked for. No sheets were to be touched but the ones on my bed... and only to put the dirty ones in the washer, not to change them. And there are no toys there. There are plug covers all over my house. The last housekeeper I had went back to her home country... she did not quit. The rest is true also, including the conversation about the sink and you were there. This is not a forum for arguing over services; I am sure you will have some bitter response to this post. I just need to respond to alligations about lying. That is not okay.

I must admit that at first I was more than a bit hesitant to contact someone this way. I have had more than my share of disappointments with housekeepers over the years. I emailed Kim and heard back from her very quickly. She came by the next week to look my home over and give me and estimate. I was very pleasantly surprised with her competitive price. I was looking for someone to clean on a weekly basis and prefer an individual over a big company. I like to know exactly who is going into my home rather than one of several different people. Kim is very pleasant and easy to get along with. I don't know what to say about her cleaning but WOW! Kim did more than what I expected and it was really, really clean not just half way done. What a wonderful thing to get off work and come to a home that is cleaned to perfection. I would highly recommend Kim to anyone whether it is for a onetime job or more often. I feel like she is extremely hardworking, honest and truly conscientious about her job. I am looking forward to each and every time Kim comes to clean and hope we each can have this great feeling for a very long time. I can only say Thank You Angie's List. She is competitively priced. She is timely, friendly and keeps a good schedule.

Kim took the job on short notice even though she was very busy that day.I left her a key in the lock box.Checked it out the next day and could not be happier.

I really like her. I am using her on a weekly basis. She comes alone for the service and she is good. I would recommend her to others.

Kim responded to my initial call within 15 minutes, she came to see the house that day and gave me a price. She rearranged her schedule to clean for me the following day. It was an emergency situation with unexpected weekend guests coming. House had not been cleaned professionally in over a year, it was beyond filthy. Kim's outlook was positive from the get-go, "we'll get it done, no problem". And she did, she was here for 6+ hours and never stopped. The initial price was higher than I expected,but the results were worth every cent. Ongoing maintenence cleaning she priced at less than half the original cost. The woman is a life-saver! Excellent on all counts.

Kim was referred to me by somebody else on Angie's List who was too busy to accept more business. She called me very promptly after the referral and came to give an estimate very quickly. Her estimate included two prices: one for initial cleanings and one price for subsequent cleanings. She has cleaned my house twice now. She works with products safe for pets, and really works hard at cleaning. I was especially impressed with her taking the initiative to clean our patio door windows where our dog noses the glass. The house looks and smells great when she is finished. I hope that she will continue cleaning for us for a long time!
