I used several realtors to try to sell a home in Virginia Beach. For various reasons that was unsuccessful. I then called Janet McCarraher (of Long and Foster) and asked her to find me a tenant so I could rent it. Even though her commission on a rental is a fraction of what it is on a sale, her tireless efforts would have you believe she was selling the property. She is professional, thorough, courteous, seems to very much enjoy her career, and is very knowledgable of the Va. Beach real estate market. I live in New Jersey, so sometimes the distance can be a challenge managing a rental property. On at least one occassion, she offered to run errands for me in the Virginia Beach area which were totally unrelated to her role as my real estate agent! In this day and age when excellent service is rare, Janet has a complete understanding of the correlation between happy clients and her success. I get solicitation cards in the mail all the time from other realtors who want my business. They go in the trash. Traditionally, time with an agent is short, only spanning the time needed to find and make a purchase. I have gotten to know Janet for over ten years, through many transactions, and would not consider using anyone else when it comes time to sell.
