Hug-A-Bug Pest Control and Termite Inc

Has the competitively best prices as I compared this company to four others in the local area. Hug-a-Bug has a very responsive and professional staff. Was able to identify and correct a house ant problem and uses products not harmful to the local honey bee population. Staff member was thorough inside and outside of the house.

All crews that came out were professional and courteous. Services provided with quality and timeliness. It was quick and easy to schedule a free estimate and get the quality work performed at a reasonable rate.

A huge waste of time. Dan used lots of scare tactics about bugs in VA BCH (we’re from Ohio). After 2 hours we agreed to $1200 termite treatment, which I retracted at 1:30 a.m. after reading all of the F reviews and had a bad gut feeling. However, Dan set 1 mouse trap and threw some granules costing a ridiculous $265 which I agreed to pay (not smart on my part). Anyway, we got 2 other estimates and negotiated $828 termite treatment. This company was professional and didn’t waste our time.

After a year of regular continued service for general pest prevention, we were falsely led into thinking that we had a bed bug infestation by ?Tim? whom I am guessing is just a sales person. He quoted a price of 2000.00 for treatment of our home for alleged bed bugs. Since he did not actually venture further into the home than the foyer ? we assumed it would be the job of the technicians to conduct an actual inspection.

When the technicians arrived on site ? they immediately informed me that we were ?unprepared?, and that thier sales person Tim was an ?[explative] head case?, but they would continue to perform requested services anyway, and asked that I leave the premises.

The technicians arrival time was Mon, Dec 21, 10:14 AM.

The technicians Departure was Mon, Dec 21, 12:55 PM.

Total time: 2 hours 31 minutes including setup and cleanup time.

During the total time of 2 hours 31 minutes on site at our residence, the technicians were seen by myself, and neighbors spending a large amount of that time sitting in their vehicle, performing no action whatsoever. I received a text message from them stating that they would be finished within 15 -20 minutes. I was actually turning into my court when I received the text message and the technicians had already packed the vehicle and were about to depart.

When the technicians were asked about the pricing or 2000.00 for the 2.5 hours of work and minimal services we received ? they  failed to deliver any kind of valid price point explaining the value of those services, stated that ?we had already paid? and ?that was just how it is?. They also did not leave any invoice or sales receipt, or itemized list of charges. They were completely disrespectful and simply stated that I could ?talk to the boss if I had a problem?.

Sure enough I checked ? and they had already charged our credit card the day prior.

I inspected the home immediately after their departure. Little or no care was given to our personal effects as muddy footprints could be found leading all over the house, couch pillows and bedding had been simply tossed on the floor in the dirt, and items removed from our bedding were simply stuffed in the outside trash can. No attempt was made to restore the home to its previous order prior to arrival whatsoever.

The kicker is - the technicians stated when asked that they had found little or no sign of a bed bug infestation.... just "a few carcasses on a box spring." verbatim. hardly a panic.

We did file a complaint with the owner - who then sent the SAME two individuals back to our residence the following morning for a follow up. Same thing - asked me to leave the residence, sent me a text message after 1 hour stating they were done. They didn't know that this time I was actually sitting across the street at my neighbors house watching them do nothing but wave a steam gun around the room lazily, light of a bug bomb, and then stand outside.

They have as of yet failed to make amends, or return our money. DO NOT use this company.

Quick response and very through inspection.

We called on a Monday night around 5:30. They came around 11am Tuesday morning. Prompt! We originally thought we might have hornets, but their assessment was and quot;no hornets, just 4 wasps nests.and quot; The sprayed and removed the nests immediately. Very courteous and did excellent. Their work guaranteed for 30 days. We were encouraged to contact them within this period if the wasps returned and they would come back and tackle the problem again for free.

I contacted Jim during kitchen renovation. After cabinets were removed, I discovered damage to drywall. I contacted Jim to see if they could take a look and verify if this was termite damage. I wanted a quick turnaround on this because my renovation was on hold until this matter was resolved. He came out same day, took one look, and confirmed. However, he could not tell if this was old damage or recent damage. He recommended I have the walls opened to inspect the studs for active termites. I did and fortunately there was no damage or signs of activity. The following day, workers showed up to treat the house. They were very courteous and professional. They arrived on time, and even called to let me know they were on the way. They even arranged to return the following week at no additional charge to treat inside my garage since I had kitchen cabinets blocking their access. They returned and completed the treatment on one of the hottest days of the summer. Thank you.

I was having my kitchen remodeled and the contractors cut into the wall and found termites. I received the call from my contractor around 3:00 pm informing me of the problem. I jumped onto Angie's List and found Hug-A-Bug and called them right away. They came out to my house with in an hour or two that day. They treated the very next day. Wonderful customer services, will definitely recommend them.

John came by and took care of everything. He showed us where our problems areas were and made sure that they were corrected. Very pleasant attitude and on time.

I called Hug-a-Bug on a Wednesday evening after seeing a roach in our kitchen on Tuesday night. I was actually on the phone with Orkin waiting to talk to someone when a Hug-a-Bug truck passed me on the highway. I hung up with Orkin and called the Hug-a-Bug man. It was about 5:30pm and the man I spoke with was very friendly and had someone at my house the very next day at 10am. My husband is military and Hug-A-Bug offered him a military discount as well. He sprayed all inside the house and the outside as well and put out a few sticky traps. They use all "green" products that won't harm your pets.They have a 90 day guarantee. If you see a bug within that 90 days, they come back for free to fix it!

They are very punctual. If you call them and say you have bugs, they will come over that day.
