"Dear Member, I was very hurt and offended to read your review posted on Angie’s List. I would’ve liked the opportunity to defend myself prior to such a damaging and public flogging. To be clear, I had no idea that you and your boyfriend were calling from the same household. Your first contact was the evening of Wednesday, May 9, after 5pm, which is when I sometimes stop receiving business calls. I then left a message for you on Friday, May 11, in the morning. On Friday night at 11:44pm I received a call that I did not answer. The voicemail was from your boyfriend chuckling, repeatedly stating that he’d like to give Domestic Divas a shot and see what we could do, and talking very loudly because there was music and talking in the background. Frankly, I assumed this was an intoxicated prank and did not call him back. He never mentioned your name nor that his girlfriend had made contact also. Tuesday, May 15, you called me and left another message; again not mentioning your boyfriend nor his contact. When your boyfriend called me again and stated who he was, I felt horrid and told him that I thought his call was a joke because of the time, etc. We both laughed. He expressed interest in using Domestic Divas on a regular basis if we did well the first visit. Our discussion included details such as the size of the home, (6200 sq ft) frequency of cleaning, etc. He was not flexible on when he wanted to schedule the first cleaning and I was eager to accommodate due to the first voicemail incident. This was at a very busy time because of graduation parties, new and existing clients, and a holiday. We typically require a two-week lead time for a first-time cleaning. He was insistent because of an upcoming party. I also left him more than one voicemail, without a return phone call, leaving me to attempt texting, which resulted in quicker responses. Domestic Divas donates regular cleanings to women being treated for cancer. The girls that were going to your home had prior commitments at a cancer patient’s home. They did call you and say they were going to be late. Due to confidentiality issues, no one wanted to advertise that they were late because that patients’ house was extra bad, due to her elderly husband having health issues also; resulting in the girls changing from their typical hot pink uniform shirts prior to arriving at your home. The girls normally do not bring mops and such because it is unsanitary to use this type of equipment in multiple homes and we normally hand-wash floors, eliminating the need for a mop. We had expressed to your boyfriend that we were concerned that we were not given enough time to clean your home to our preference and he stated that “we’ll see how it goes”. Upon entering the home, we were told that due to the party, the bar was the priority. The bar was quite sizeable with dozens of bottles to dust and took more than two hours to clean. We did clean the kitchen, and always do the interior of the microwave, but there was a young man there who proceeded to make himself lunch after we cleaned the kitchen. There were more windows than walls, making it impossible to clean during the amount of time we were given. Upon leaving, you expressed to the girls “great job, thank you!” After your service date, I called both you and your boyfriend, leaving voicemails inquiring about your satisfaction and if I could help further and received no response from either of you. I am very sorry that you felt you had such a bad experience with our company that you were compelled to complain publicly rather than give us the opportunity to remedy the situation. We receive compliments daily, and yours is the first complaint in a year in the area. I prefer to learn from every situation and all feedback, and will do my best to insure that this doesn’t happen again to anyone else.
