We have been in business for about 7 years now, no subcontractors. I take pride in my company when I say we use the most modern, up-to-date techniques and tools to get the job done right! The good part is we don't charge a dime for that fact. I'm Not happy unless you're happy. License and insuranse is very important to me as it may or may not be to you. Certificates are avalible on request--as authentic as well as the service. Within our home area we do not charge any travel or extra fuel fees that others may in their billing. I called at 6:30pm or so and Chris answered the phone. I had heard about him through a neighbor. I already called a former HVAC Co. that had done some work on my unit and they didn't respond. Chris sent a very qualified technician within the hour that was there for an hour diagnosing the problem. He did a detailed inspection of the unit and couldn't find anything wrong. He thinks perhaps one of the plug ins was loose and it was working by the time I left. The fact that they were so responsive and reasonable is something I am so thankful for. They are coming back to do a thorough cleaning and servicing of the unit as it needs it and this was also quoted reasonably. For me, they were above and beyond in response and professionalism.
.Their initial diagnosis was that the coil in the upstairs unit was leaking (no official leak check was preformed) and that it froze over my compressor which in turn stopped working. The cost to replace the coil and the compressor would be about $2,200. Then they proceeded to say that my unit is no longer energy efficient and that I may as well replace my unit for about $5,500. They wanted an answer by 5pm that day (a Friday) so that they could replace the parts or the unit on Monday, depending on which option I chose. I told them that I was not going to decide without a proposal (and I wasn't going to have them play on my emotions). That they could email it to me. I'm still waiting on that proposal.
I contacted another company for a 2nd opinion and the cost of the repair to my unit was less than $200. They said that my compressor was in fact working and that the leak in my coil was so small that it was not a matter to be concerned with at this point. They hardly had to refill any Freon. They did not recommend replacing my unit. It is now blowing cold air. I would highly recommend receiving a 2nd opinion before signing up with Chris Mechanical.

In any event a Poor service call with any improper Diagnostic does get dealt with in the most highest regard here at Chris Mechanical you may not have a job or be ordered to re training ( lack of service hours ) . We do not go around bashing units cause just there age or lack of efficiency . I realize that older equipment might not be the most easiest to work on or the cheapest to operated, but it is no reason to not give them a fair diagnostic with a fair repair. Our small fleet of 5 vans are not the newest, so just like my auto mechanic telling me to throw them all away, I wouldn't do that to you ! [Removed member name] maybe one of those customers who had a hot overheated compressor that wouldn't start that evening. Or he has the wrong company. In any event this posting was just brought to my attention and now I'm writing you ( The list customers ) to defend my back ground. I work very hard not to do people wrong. To make sure there getting the latest trained technicians with the best Diagnostic technology there is ! Cause being a homeowner myself I wish the same quality for services needed in my home.
