It was a complete screw over. We paid over $300,000.00 for our home. Brand new. We moved into the house in August 2008. The next day it rained. Every window (all 21 of them) in our house leaked. Every one of them.....and when we called them to complain they actually told us that they knew about it. When we asked them what they were going to do to fix it, they blew us off. We took pictures and documented everything. After about 6 months they finally relented and came out and did a "fix" They basically drilled holes in the bottom of the windows because they didn't come with weep holes. Just recently, we discovered that our $1,200.00 jetted tub had a crack in it that was covered with a material to conceal it. Further investigation found that the crack was caused during installation (when the house was constructed) Once again Chesapeake Homes denies any wrongdoing and will not do anything about it. They told us to contact the plumber who installed it (Central Plumbing...I have a review put in for them too), and talk to them. As usual, they denied everything and told us to contact the builder.....too funny. What made this worse was that all of the water that leaked from the bathtub went down to the second floor ceiling, causing over $1300.00 in damages. In the 4 years that we have lived in this home we have had countless problems - all caused from shoddy construction by Chesapeake Homes. They charge you an arm and a leg - but deliver you a cheaply built shack. We have yet to get a swimming pool or clubhouse buit....and every year they tell us the same thing..."next year". Our UPA has requested them to provide a representative to come to our annual meetings to discuss the ongoing problems with the residents' homes - and they refuse every time. They also have a under the deal table set up with Cox Cable (Wedgewood Associates, LLC). We have to pay $160.00 for basic cable service. The reception sucks.....crappy internet, crappy phone. We actually went 2 whole days with no service - and they wouldn't credit our account. It's all about money.....whatever Chesapeake Homes can do to get your money....they will do it - they will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to get you to buy. Once the paperwork is signed - your screwed. My wife and I put our life savings into this home - and it is a total bust. I will tell you now - whatever you do.....DO NOT BUY FROM CHESAPEAKE HOMES!! Watch out for the Sandler Brothers.....they are the owners. They and the company they run is a total scam!! They will rob you blind and leave you with a lemon. They are SCAM ARTISTS!!! Before you buy a home from Chesapeake Homes, contact me (
[email protected]). I will be glad to give you a tour of our 4 year old "new" home that is nothing but a shack. Trust me - you will regret it later on if you buy from them. You will end up with nothing but a lemon.
