I already knew a lot about windows but I still decided to shop around prior to replacing my windows and sliding glass door for my condo. Out of all the companies I spoke with; Capital had the best combination of quality, energy efficiency and warranty at the best price. I did receive some quotes that were lower but the quality was lacking and no one could match their triple lifetime warranty including glass breakage for any reason, plus they even covered the labor for life. I instantly noticed a huge difference in how much cooler my home has been since the windows were installed and my first electric bill was almost $80 less than the one prior. All in all I am extremely satisfied with my decision so far.

They technicians were very friendly on time and professional. There was a small defect on one of the windows after the installations and when I called them, they were very prompt to come back out and correct.

No complaint on quality of windows or the installation crew.  I believe I was misled by the salesman on what would be done on the exterior trim.  Instead of wrapping the existing J strip modeling, the existing (old and worn) J strip trim was reused. It really detracts from the overall appearance of the new windows.  To be honest, we probably have some responsibility for not ensuring what we were receiving for our money.  It was not until the installation progressed that it became apparent that a upgrade to the exterior trim was not to be.  A representative from the company did offer a price break to try and make it right but in the end this money will go to trying to fix what I thought would be part of the installation.  Buyer beware - make sure you clearly understand (and have it in writing) what will be done on exterior trim.  I had seen other window replacements on neighbors houses and there trim was redone.  I wrongly assumed that was normal practice when replacing windows.  Seems to me putting new windows and not upgrading the trim is like putting lipstick on a pig.

Salesman was professional and brought in a window sample.  These are great windows and custom made, but that does not compensate for the high price.  Premier had similiar window for half the price.  Also, Capital takes 4-6 weeks to get windows in because they are custom made. We wanted our work done before August 1.
Price too high, wait time for work/install was too long.
We did sign a contract, but then cancelled.  If you sign the contract cancellation--on the back of your contract---and mail by registered, signature required, delivery notification mail there should not be a problem.  They accepted our cancellation with no issues probably because we did it registered signature required mail and left several phone messages.

I ordered a bigger project.  When life changed for me they wouldn't let me out of my original contract even though no work had been done.  They did work with me to use the total amount in ways I'd like to change to better fit my new arrangement. Scheduling was long, and I had a hard time getting in touch with them. But the man who actually came and did the work was excellent and trustworthy. They missed a small order (drawer pulls) but when I finally got in touch with them again, they made things right.

Marketing rep, Ian, came to the house in February. We discussed in detail and looked at the 9 windows we needed replaced because of obvious leakage, (1 single window and 4 double windows). After  some haggling about the price and a phone call to the rep's manager, a price was agreed upon at $3000.00. The rep said he had never seen an offer so low accepted, and that he would be making no money on the job, but he wanted to get more business in the neighborhood so it was worth it. ( I checked average costs of 9 installed replacement windows in the area, $2900-$3800.)We gave him a check for $1000.00 for a down payment which was immediately cashed. When the man came to the house to measure the openings, he said we were only supposed to get 5 windows, not 9. After checking the paperwork we discovered that the rep had written up the paperwork incorrectly. After many phone calls to the company, the manager called us back and set up an appt. with us to come to the house. Instead of the manager coming himself, he sent the original marketing rep, Ian. When he arrived he played dumb, pretended he thought we wanted to replace just one of each of the double windows which doesn't even make sense and can't even be done. When we asked him to look at his book that he wrote all the details and numbers in, he couldn't show us because he had supposedly left it at home. He treated us like imbeciles, pretended not to remember any of the details we discussed, told us we said things we didn't say and lied to us. The best they could offer us was to do single hung windows instead of double hung for the original quote, or they would do the single window and 2 of the doubles as double hung. Typical bait and switch. We canceled everything and finally got our $1000 back after 3 months of them having it in their bank. I gave them an overall D instead of an F because they gave us our money back.

I like the quality of the windows. I did not like the service that I received from Capital Remodeling Windows & Bath. They said they would come out and then they postponed a date on me which we knew, he said there was a hurricane, I think it was hurricane Sandy and I said not a problem with that. But once they did get out here and they put the windows in, they were supposed to put in 9 windows but 3 of the windows they measured wrong. The guy who was putting the windows in explained to me that they had the numbers transposed the numbers backwards. I was very upset about that.
Response from Capital Remodeling Windows & Bath

"Member - We are certainly glad that you are happy with the quality of the windows and understand your frustration with the mis-measurement of the three windows. Thankfully it looks like our factory was able to make three brand new correctly measured windows and our installers were able to have them installed quickly. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any assistance or you have any questions. Thank you."

The guy was very nice and the cost was very competitive. Then we had some window issues with the wrong type of window,  they tired to give us the cheapest kind of windows. They then came back out and upgraded our windows and we had to pay extra. I would not use the two reps again, but we might use the same company.
