The owner (Shawn) stated that he has no shame in another company taking over his work; which meant to use that he takes no pride in what he does and that he is NOT true to his word about completing a job to the satisfaction of his consumers. In addition, he did not take any repsonsibility for the mistakes that he made with out $33,000 project. As a matter of fact, he put the blame on his employees....another characteristic of a poorly managed company. After everything was said and done- we ended up hiring another company to finish Beach groundworks contracted job and were completely satisfied with them (All Things Green, Inc). Consumers please be aware.....this company will tell you what you want to hear, but once your check is cashed....good luck getting them to your house!
Once one part got complete, it was hard to get them to come back. I had to call and basically ask if they would come to my house each week. Originally we were told the scope of our work would take about 4 weeks, and it has now been 4 MONTHS! Again, we were giving them the benefit of the doubt because this summer consisted of a lot of rain....
We were also short-changed on a lot of things. For instance, we were told we would receive a 3D drawing prior to start and DIDN'T. We were told irrigation would cover our backyard and DOESN'T. The two crepe myrtles we received arrived DEAD. The area that didn't get sod was to be seeded and WASN'T. Along the fence line there was suppose to be pine straw and ISN'T. A tree that was to be removed is STILL there. A final walk-thru was suppose to be given to go over everything and NEVER WAS!!!
Lastly, the owner told us any changes that occur during the scope of work would require a change form with signatures and additional payment (makes sense, things come up) but when he had to add a retaining wall to an area of the pavers, he said we can add that into phase 2, then said $900 and now it is $2200. It is obvious that he is trying to makeup additional money for things he did not originally take into account, but no change order was ever given, nor signed.
Overall, very very disappointed. As new homeowners, we dreamt of a beautiful yard to go with our newly built home and this company has taken that excitement away from my husband and I. This nightmare has consumed our lives (while my husband is on deployment). Although their work is great, the bad most certainly outweighs the good!!!
I decided to join Angie's list after watering my backyard for over an hour (by hand) when our $33,000+ project was suppose to include irrigation back there.
