It's only been a month, and no heavy rains, but so far no leaks from the skylights.  The product itself appears to be of top quality. 

Our install was scheduled for  1-1.5 days- turned out to be 3 days.  There were 2 workers assigned, but only one showed up for Day 1. On Day 2, they left our job to finish up another.  While they claimed we didn't need to be there, of course for liability purposes, and for general oversight of the work we absolutely wanted to be there.  That meant additional time off from work. 

The biggest issue was payment method. While the contract states they accept credit cards, there was nothing, not even in fine print that stated paying by credit card incurred a 3% fee.  The only way we could afford to replace the skylights was by paying for them using card, so unfortunately we had no other option.  Unfortunately it added almost another $200 to the bill. 

What made the situation worse, was when we tried to speak to the owner about the additional fees, the receptionist that answered was not only rude and obnoxious, but would not allow us to speak to the owner.   It appears the owner must've overheard her disgusting tone and apologized for it, but did nothing about the lack of disclosure re: the credit card fee.

So far, overall, we are satisfied with the work and most definitely with the clean up.  You could hardly tell that work was being done on our house, and the workers kept the area neat and tidy at all times.  The workers were pleasant and polite.  Unfortunately the issues stated, especially the fees and the customer service made the situation less than ideal.

They removed all the old roofing, 1 layer of 3 lap shingles 19 yrs old, all the square roof vents and the attic fan. they installed 25 squares of roofing on a 1450 sf house, with GAF timberline HD shingles, Ice/water valleys, pipes lead collars and Pro III Series power fan. Installation was great! They started at 830 am and was finished at 5:30 pm they cleaned up everything.

The people on the phone were also very pleasant. After that, contact seems to end. We had to call 3-4 times in order to get a written quote. When we finally signed a contract, they called back and said that the equipment they needed to install that particular type of roofing was not available. It was very frustrating. I had the feeling they were not really organized. We decided not to use them because we felt that they would never be able to finish the job.

The windows arrived within the time frame specified, and the work was scheduled to start the following work day. The workman arrived promptly and worked all day. The only thing that was different from the original specifications was that they originally said the work would take one to one-and-a half days and it took two full days. However, we were glad he was thorough and doublechecked his work. When he finished he cleaned the debris from around the house and even scrubbed the dining room floor where some caulking had gotten on the hardwood floors. He often let us know how he was doing and kept us informed every step of the way. When the invoice was presented it was for exactly the amount of the estimate. The entire process went very smoothly with much less disruption than we had feared, and we are so pleased we plan to hire them to replace the rest of our windows and an exterior door in the near future.

I went very good. All work completed to my satisfaction.

They came out and did the repair. We've had rain since then and I haven't noticed a leak because we actually had a leak earlier. It did take them a while to get out here but they were very busy. The sales representative came out pretty quickly but to actually get the repair done, it took a little bit longer. I would use them again, if needed.

Advanced did the work in a timely manner. They did exactly what they said they would do. They did not try to sell me extra plywood. They did not try to sell me extra product that I knew was not needed in this climate like so many others had tried to do. I had done my research and so I knew what questions to ask and they answered them all correctly. The price was excellent, I interviewed 5 other roofers before Advanced. Also, they gave me the correct measurement of my roof. They did not exaggerate the sq/ft of my roof as some others did.

I highly recommend Advanced Roofing for a new roof to other Tidewater customers. They had multiple good references whom I spoke to on the phone. I really liked the fact that I could randomly pick the people to call to validate the quality of their work. The work was done on March 8, 2006 as Advanced Roofing had specified in the written estimate and the crew came with sufficient roofing materials and equipment to complete the job. My husband reviewed the work the next morning and climbed on the roof to check the skylights and flashing around vent pipes, etc. There were a few places which my husband said were minor, but needed to be renailed. Advanced Roofing sent two men to do this work the next day. We have had a few severe rains since the installation, and we have seen no leaks or problems with the roof so far. We are very satisfied with Advanced Roofing.

The job itself went relatively smooth, with one exception. The attic vents on both sides of the house were removed and painted. This was not necessary because they are stainless steel. The color they used did not match the new roof, or the rest of the house. We called them back to paint them black to match the roof. The rest of the project went quite well, and the end result is very positive.
