A&B Flooring is an A+ company. Ed was a pleasure to work with and offered competitive pricing. They were dependable and the quality of work was outstanding. Gary is an excellent craftsman and did an amazing job from start to finish. Would highly recommend and will call again for my next project. Thanks for everything...we love our floors and new stairs!

We purchased a 70’s home in Virginia Beach that was in rough shape after being a rental for several years. The floors were mostly carpeted and we wanted to switch over to wood. To us, this was a major investment and wanted the job done right. We went with A&B Flooring's competitive bid and their installation was a work of craftsmanship. They did a fantastic job and we now have the heirloom flooring we envisioned. Owner Ed Ambrose was quick to communicate (mostly text) response to any questions or concerns. He offered stain and wood options. We finally went with an unfinished, engineered maple which was sealed then coated with oil-based polyurethane. I love my floors! This is a top-notch outfit.

Very professional team. Respectful, hardworking and efficient! On time and performed beyond our expectations. Our floors looked great and they came back to make sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. Definitely recommend and we will use in the future.

I purchased my home a few months ago and the flooring that was in the home at purchase was cheap and not of good quality. I hired A&B Floors to remove the old Laminate flooring and replace with Luxury Vinyl Tile. From start to finish, everyone at A&B floors was courteous, professional, and went the extra mile to ensure I was satisfied. The work was completed beyond my expectations. Met with Ed Ambrose initially for the estimate  and he answered all my questions and detailed how the refinishing would take place.
I was impressed with professionalism  and felt comfortable that I would be satisfied with the end result which I was. In fact, more than pleased.
Ed's crew were at the house at the appointed date and time and  commenced the work as outlined in detail in the estimate in a thoroughly professional and efficient manner. There was little disruption or dust from the sanding and the staining was exactly the shade we wanted to complement our adjoining floor.
The work crew led by Steve was excellent and made sure that I could review every step as it was completed.
We followed the instructions offered by Ed after the refinishing to the letter and we are extremely pleased with their work.The floor looks great !

Our original floors were worn and had a bevels between planks (like the majority of pre-finished floors).  We have not liked the pre-finished floors from the very beginning, especially how the bevels would trap dirt.
Ed Ambrose and his Son were able to sand the hardwood down flat, no bevel.  They used Bona products and the floors look fabulous!
The A & B Floors crew is extremely professional.  They use a dust collection system that is virtually dust-free!  After they finished our job, everything was dust free!  The walls, countertops, appliances, everything......dust free!  Extraordinary!
I would use A & B Floors again and recommend them highly!  A & B Floors is Top Notch!

This was an excellent experience dealing with A&B Floors. Contacted Ed and he quickly came out and measured for my new floors and answered all my questions regarding which floor to use and the process for installation. He provided a detailed quote very quickly. Picked out which floor I wanted and he immediately ordered them - they arrived 2 days later so they could sit in the house to get acclimated. Installation was scheduled for 1 week later. Installers showed up on time each day and were very careful moving our furniture around. They cleaned up at the end of each day. Maurice and Parker did an excellent job on the installation and they were a pleasure to deal with. Very happy with all aspects - responsiveness, price, and installation. My new hardwood floors look beautiful. Thanks to all!!!!

We obtained quotes from 3 flooring companies reviewed on Angie's list.  A & B had the most reasonable quote and made the best impression when they came to visit our home.  Ed and his crew are serious, punctual and very good at what they do.  They spent two weeks completing our project, and did a good job at keeping the mess to a minimum.  I would use them again for future flooring needs.

This was my first encounter with this contractor and I doubt I could have been more pleased. Beginning with meeting Ed Ambrose, I was impressed with his integrity. We thoroughly discussed the job and set a date to begin that fit my schedule. I believe most of us measure a contractor on not only the quality of their work but how well they follow through with their schedule and responsiveness. Nothing fell short. 
Gary Widlak, Ed?s son-in-law, took the lead on and coordinated the job from beginning with the floor refinishing to the end with the carpet installation. Gary is not just a man of his word but a conscientious professional as well. In my profession in the insurance field, I have worked with numerous contractors and witnessed many deserving of praise as well as contempt and A&B Floors deserves my praise. One of the challenges with the oak flooring was matching the finish with a room off the hall and Gary went to great lengths in applying sample stains to coordinate the match I preferred.
I could go on with the many little things he did to complete the job but summarize by saying that he concerns himself with the details of a job that tend to make a positive impression and he succeeded. I could not be more satisfied with the condition and appearance of my oak flooring. 
Finally, the carpet installation by Yogi Bryan went off without a hitch. Great job!

This was a wonderful experience.  The owner, Ed Ambrose, and team were very professional.  They arrived on time every day and cleaned up before they left. 

The contractor worked nights and weekends to finish the job when promised.  The stairway work was very much a custom job and the contractor spent a lot of time making sure it came out right.  We were very pleased with the result.  The reason I rated the professionalism a "B" was because the contractor borrowed several of my tools to do the job (nail gun, shop vac, extension cords, Dewalt battery, stud finder, etc.).

We could not be happier with our new flooring. I requested 3 quotes, one from the number 1 guy on Angie's List who never showed up, another from Cherry whose quote was much more, and last from A&B. We are so thankful we went with them. Ed came out and gave us a quote. Gary and his all american crew came on time every time and worked d*** hard. Gary was very helpful to answer any of our questions or concerns. There was minimal dust and they put up plastic on everything and anything that they thought might get dusty. They matched the old hardwood flooring to the new flooring they installed and it all looks amazing. Ed recommended we go with the satin finish to help hide dog scratches in the future and we just could not be happier with how it came out. I can't say it enough how impressed we are.

They were great about working within my time frame and around my other remodeling projects. The work was done fast and very well and the guys did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. The whole job was completed in 3-4 days.

They very friendly and easy to work with. They have a very personalized care. They cleaned up after themselves. They're very respectful. It was all the positive stuff. I would use them again in the future.

He charged $5000 for about 1500 square feet and a stairway.

I had laminate flooring installed on the lower level of my home. The crew moved all of the furniture, pulled up all of the old flooring, and installed the new flooring within 4 days. I have three kids and we were able to stay at home during the process. I was made aware of any issues that came about during the process. I would definitely utilize their services again.
