He had no clue because he only took a peak at the dog's records because he does not have time according to the staff that made the phone call for him. Complete lack of professionalism and integrity.

This place partners with a company that sells the ‘help em up harness’ for dogs with disabilities. It was recommended by my vet. I needed one right away. I called to see if I could come in and purchase one and was told I needed to talk to the rehab department. I was cut off so I called back. When I called back I was told I needed to see a vet in order to buy the harness. There is no requirement to have a prescription for this device and it can be ordered online. I can pay the overnight shipping of $40 from the company and wait 24 hours or the vet office fee and get it today. Boy these people really care for animals.

Dr. Langenbach at Veterinary Surgical Center in The Hope Advanced Veterinary Center is a knowledgeable, compassionate, and skilled surgeon! I am so grateful to her for the excellent care she and her staff gave my dog. He had to have a toe and part of his paw amputated due to a fast growing cancerous tumor. Dr. Langenbach took a great deal of time with me discussing the surgical options and the implications.

Once I decided on a course of treatment, I asked if it could be done immediately. Given the rapid growth of the cancer, she put my dog at the top of her surgical schedule the same day. I was happy that in doing so, he was able to recover from anesthesia in time to go home with me that night. He was sent home with a big bandaged paw, lots of pain meds, an antibiotic and complete instructions for his home-care.

I am SO impressed with VSC! Each staff I encountered was kind and understanding, and helped make the whole experience a good one, despite the sad circumstances.

It has been three days, and my dog is doing very well. Dr. Langenbach called this morning to follow up and see how he is doing. She answered my questions and scheduled an appt. for him to get his bandage changed. The surgery wasn't cheap, but the quality of care and the thoroughness of Dr. Langenbach and the VSC staff is worth every cent!

Our 3 year old Weimaraner was having trouble walking and was holding one of her hind legs up frequently so we took her to the Veterinary Surgical Center (VSC) at Hope Advanced Veterinary Center for evaluation. The reason we chose to take her there is because she had surgery on the same leg in 2011 when she broke it very badly in an accident and we thought she received excellent care. Luckily, Dr. Gordon, who performed the surgery on our dog in 2011, was able to see her again and evaluate her. He suspected the CCL was torn and recommended the TPLO surgery to correct it. We went to Town and Country to our regular vet for a second opinion and she agreed with Dr. Gordon's recommendation. We scheduled the appointment and dropped our dog off. It turns out Dr. Gordon was spot on. Our dog had a complete ACL tear and her meniscus had also torn and flipped causing her additional pain and mobility problems. I can't say enough good things about VSC or Dr. Gordon. There are other options in the area and some of them might be more cost effective, but I don't think anybody can come close to the standard of care provided by VSC and the Hope center. I can honestly say that our dog generally receives better care than I do from most of the providers I see. The doctors and staff are extremely professional, caring and knowledgeable about not only the work they perform, but the rehabilitation process as well. We left the office completely prepared to nurse our dog back to health over a period of several months while she was recovering from surgery. Dr. Gordon followed up personally to check on her progress and Dr. Weber gave us very detailed instructions on how to care for our dog and get her back on her feet again. Dr. Weber also followed up via email and provided PDF copies of all the rehabilitation exercises that we went over in the office on the follow-up appointments.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Anke Langenbach and the entire staff at the Veterinary Surgical Center (VSC) in Vienna, VA. My dog suffered from brachycephalic airway syndrome and had difficulty breathing. His soft palette was very long and partially obstructed his airway and he had very small nostrils, making it difficult for him to breathe through his nose. My dog consistently sounded like he was straining to breathe; even at rest you could hear him wheezing. What I thought were cute little noises really was my dog telling me and my husband that he was having a hard time getting air in.

When my husband and I dropped him off for his surgery everyone at the hospital knew who my dog was and what he was there for. He was scratched and made to feel loved, which helped calm him down because he did not know what was going on. Kelly, my dog's vet tech, called prior to his surgery to let me know he was going under in about 15 minutes. Dr. Langenbach called after the surgery was over to tell me how it went and to give me a progress report. I had questions about his operation and, even though she is busy, Dr. Langenbach took the time to answer everything in detail. I called a few hours later to check in and spoke to Kelly, who gave me a detailed update and told me how good he was doing.

It took about an hour to get my dog discharged the next day. It was a very organized process; billing, aftercare instructions, and getting your pet are all separated out so you are not juggling your dog while paying the bill and trying to listen all at the same time. I spent about 30 minutes with going over the post operative care instructions with a very well-informed and attentive vet tech, who answered all my questions. 10 days later I took my dog back for a follow-up exam. Dr. Gordon, one of the surgeons, examined him, made sure the incisions were healing properly, and answered all my questions. I'm happy to say my dog is doing great.

This has been a great experience. Yes - VSC is expensive but the care and the staff make every penny spent worthwhile. The hospital is immaculate, the surgeons top notch, and the staff is great. Those things do not come cheap. Everyone who I dealt with was polite, both in person and on the phone, and everyone quickly responded to email. The office staff also helped me get my paperwork in order to get my dog's surgery pre-approved with his insurance company. I definitely would take my dog back to VSC and he will be returning soon; he needs to have surgery on his knees.

We started going to the VSC about a year ago to see if there was anything we could do to help one of our two senior Samoyeds with his mobility issues. He was almost 14 then. Dr. Langenbach evaluated him and suggested laser treatments. Since the laser treatments seemed to be helping him we started taking our 13 year old there as well. We have been very pleased with the services provided by the physical therapy staff at the VSC. Both Kasey and Ashley have been wonderful and extremely helpful. Kasey recommended special harnesses for them and those are helping a lot, especially now that they are getting older.
In January our youngest one was taken there after he collapsed. Two MRIs were ordered and he was diagnosed with an enlarged prostatic abscess, and myelopathy. While the cost of the diagnostics that day were very high, we are pleased that we were able to receive a proper diagnosis and a treatment plan that worked. Things went sour when we were referred to the Hope Center downstairs for a follow up and in retrospect, we wish we would have gone to our regular vet for that, but the services provided at the VSC have all been good and we would recommend them and visit them again.

My dog was diagnosed with cancer about 2 years ago, and I am very fortunate that he is doing well thanks to the wonderful care from VSC. They did an excellent job diagnosing the issue, discussing treatment problems, and following up. Best of all, my dog loves his trips to the vet and is always excited to go to his appointments.

My 12-year old has been going to this vet since June for chemotherapy treatments. They have been very helpful throughout this experience. I particularly appreciated how the staff helped show me how to 'pill' the cat, including by showing me how I could put the pills into gelcaps to reduce the number of doses and providing me a tool for pilling her. It's been an arduous experience, and it took multiple efforts to find the right approach to the chemotherapy. The experience (which started when she was refusing food) has been arduous and expensive, but I don't think the cost is unusually expensive for chemo on a cat.

I would say that overall we had a good experience. The Vets and staff are friendly and the Vets seem to be very knowledgable and willing to go the extra step to make sure your pet is doing alright.

They were really good at keeping me informed of the procedures. They managed her pain well. They did a very good job. I would use them again in the future.

I took my yellow Labrador to Veterinary Surgical Center's, 165 Fort Evans Road, NE, Leesburg, Va., office and consulted with Dr. Tibor Lazar about her pain and difficulty arising from a prone position. For the past nine months we had been trying to firmly determine the source of Marcy's problem. Dr. William Bush, a veterinary neurologist, also at VSC, who first saw Marcy suspected that her problem might be an issue in her back as she did not limp when she walked as would be expected with a torn ACL. He treated Marcy for about six months for back pain. We went back to see Dr. Bush when the pain worsened. Dr. Bush then decided his first diagnosis might have been wrong. He said he suspected it was torn ACL ligaments in BOTH rear knees. I was, of course, devastated at this news as the surgery seemed so grim to contemplate. Within days we got a consultation with Dr. Tibor Lazar, the orthopedic surgeon at VSC's Leesburg site. He examined Marcy, determined that her ACL ligaments on both sides in the rear were blown, then talked at length with us about the need for surgery. He proposed a bilateral ACL repair in her case, as he said if he did only one side at a time, he predicted we would be back for a second surgery within two or three weeks because the non-operative side would not be able to withstand the stress of supporting her body. Two surgeries would be harder on Marcy and more costly, he said. Dr. Lazar patiently explained the newer, less invasive TTA procedure that he said he had used in 15 previous bilateral ACL repairs with good results. He answered all my questions about TTA and the older TPLO procedure which he no longer uses. He showed us excellent plastic models that illustrated clearly how the reconstructive surgery would be performed. We could have left Marcy for surgery that very day, but for our own scheduling reasons set the surgery for one week later. We left her wondering if we would have to carry her for days and days following the surgery and see her in serious pain for many days. NOT SO! Late the day after surgery, we picked Marcy up. She came walking toward us steadily on all four legs, although perhaps a little stiffly on her back legs, and happily wagging her tail. The technician had a sling under her belly in case she needed help, but it was totally unnecessary. We are now one week past surgery. Marcy is off all pain meds and is progressing beautifully. We will get her staples removed tomorrow and have our first visit with the physical therapist in the VSC practice. Marcy's pain levels were controlled with an epidural for the first 12 hours after surgery, then she was switched to an oral medication. She left the hospital on one third less pain medication that she had been taking prior to surgery and was off all pain meds in five days! I never felt that she suffered. I would encourage anyone facing this terrible but commonplace injury with their dog to seek our Dr. Lazar at VSC in Leesburg. He's worth the drive even if you live at some distance. He must have amazing surgical skills. The bilateral knee surgey cost just under $5,000. We felt the price was very good considering the highly skilled care she got. I also would recommend Dr. Bush for any dog with a neurological problem and would not hesitate to see him again. I admired the fact that he was willing to rethink her case and change his diagnosis. Dr. Lazar told us that bilateral tears in the ACL frequently seem like a back problem (and, in fact, causes back pain from the struggle to get up and down.) The follow-up care for this surgery is vital to longterm success. We plan to follow directions to the letter and take advantage of VSC's physical therapy program. Fortunately for us, the PT also works at the Vienna office part of the week, which is closer to our home. I found myself wishing that VSC treated people too!

Following the injury, our dog was partially paralyzed, and we were a mess. The entire staff at the emergency department and the surgery center were so compassionate; we knew right away that our dog was in good hands. After dropping our dog off (approximately 9 pm), we called the facility several times to check on him, and were given thorough reports each time we called. Our dog was evaluated by a surgeon in the morning, and a diagnosis was made. They recommended that our dog undergo an MRI to pinpoint the injury site and increase the chance of surgical success, and because they could not perform that in-house, they helped coordinate the procedure with a pet imaging center. We were given frequent updates on our dog's progress throughout the day, both before and after his successful surgery. The center has visiting hours for sick pets, so we were able to spend about an hour each day with our dog in a small, private room while he was recovering in their care. The vets and techs demonstrated how to care for our dog prior to discharging him to us, and were available via phone for questions. We saw Dr. Langenbach at each follow up visit, and she took the time to answer our many questions during each visit. She also recommended a rehab vet (not associated with the facility) to help in the care and recovery of our dog. While it was a sad event that brought us to the facility, we were VERY thankful to have such a wonderful, caring, technically excellent place to care for our dog.

The vet that I see here is Dr. Morris. He is wonderful. This place is open 24 hours a day. Everyone here is very caring. They allowed me to bring my dog s favorite blanket in to help keep him calm. After the surgery was done they did not charge me for check up visits. I also call them all of the time asking questions and they seem to not care at all.

The clinic was very attentive to my cat. It is great to know they can perform most any surgical procedure or operation I may need. I felt the seriousness of the operation even though expensive was compatible to price. I called to make an appointment and it took only one day to schedule operation.
