The contractor misrepresented himself and his firm, demanded payments well in advance of the schedule without meeting deliverables and either partially paid or never paid his subcontractors. Materials were never ordered on time, we were frequently lied to, were harassed by his associates to try to get us to sign an exorbitantly priced change order and he threatened to walk off the job leaving our house uninhabitable.
The labor was shoddy, the supervisor and plumber were unlicensed and the building site was always filthy. The contractor never functioned as a contractor- the entire job was subcontracted.The building site failed inspection on occasion and Fairfax County inspectors witnessed complete incompetence and unprofessional conduct from the contractor.
He finally walked off the job- and we fired him.
